It’s ok YalieGirl, I was also rejected today. Idek the time of arrival, but I can’t sulk too long. I’m just gonna suit up for another semester at my current uni and try again next semester.

Good luck to those still waiting!

Got my acceptance into WCAS on June 20. Previous posters seemed to have scary-impressive stats but I’ve got a 3.8/3.9 GPA with no research experience…perhaps it was my rec letter and essay that pushed me over. Anyways, good luck to everyone else!

Is anyone else still waiting??? I cannot take this!!!

My S just received his acceptance yesterday. (I’m truly so sorry for those of you who are still waiting and/or who unfortunately did not get the news they were hoping for).

Does anyone know anything about HOUSING for Transfer Applicants?

Yeah 125 transfers were given access to the housing app on the 22nd. I’m assuming the remaining transfer batch will get an email together as well.

I called today and they said that all decisions would be made by the end of the month…which is tomorrow…but he didn’t really seem like he was that sure. I just can’t figure out why they would wait so long to reject me. It is seriously giving me false hope.

did anyone get their financial aid?

Congratulations to all who have been accepted to Northwestern. I originally started this thread because I hoped to apply. However, I ended up applying to other places.

Once again, congratulations and good luck to those who will venture towards Illinois.

@pokemonfan – I was a little afraid to apply again, since I was rejected the first time around. I think my essays this time were definitely better. The topic was the same: What aspects of NU make you want to attend. The first time, I was more general and generic— great location, great program, great school… basically I didn’t show that I had looked into the programs. For my transfer essay, I went into detail about study abroad and EPICS. When I was talking about my program I listed specific classes and compared it to the curriculum of the university I was at.

I also broadened my extracurricular. In high school, my main activity was soccer… Once I got into college I joined a service frat, and completed close to 50 hours of community service during the year (I also participated in a number of leadership seminars through this.) In addition, I was in a play first semester.

Finally, I also gain more experience for my major through a internship and classes.

Haha and I’m sure the 4.0 and Dean’s List didn’t hurt.

Good luck to everyone still waiting, and congrats to you that have gotten in!

Accepted to WCAS!

Admitted to WCAS on the 26th. I was hoping I wouldn’t get in so I didn’t have to choose schools myself, but that’s life.

still havent heard anything… i really dont care anymore. still got into my dream school!

Have any accepted students heard back from financial aid yet? Anything promising?

Question regarding the Housing Application? When my S goes in to the Housing Application, the drop down menu states he is a Freshman? Is this simply a programming for housing issue? His first year courses at his current college will transfer to Northwestern correct?

Tell your son to keep reading his NU email and forward it to his main email. If there is no transfer option just call Housing 847-491-7564. I had the same issue and they fixed it in 5 seconds.

do you guys know if we can apply for spring transfer if we got rejected for fall?
or do i have to wait a year?
congrats to those who made it :]

Hi there,

I am now a chemE sophomore in UIUC. Since I am looking for a smaller size learning environment, I decided to transfer to Northeastern. Below are my current academic stats.

SAT(CR/MATH/CW): 410/680/550
SAT II(CHEM/MATH):720/800
ACT(English/math/reading/science/writing):21/35/12/22/20 Composition:23

AP: Math BC:5
Chinese:5
Physics C:3
Biology: 3
Current college GPA: 3.87

Should I retake my ACT or SAT?

Thanks!!!

if northwestern requires the 2nd semester grade…does that mean it will not weigh HS record heavily?

^I would assume so. Can anyone clarify how the “rolling” decisions work? I’m worried that I won’t have enough time to get to know my professors(my semester begins January 28th) so every extra week helps with the recommendations.

This is last year’s NU thread, please start a 2013 thread to continue your discussion.
