Official Northwestern Transfer - Fall 2012

oh lol I was off! Wow 6% acceptance rate that is like columbia status! lol

@ mattymark: Yeah, none of the top schools are “transfer friendly”, but if they like you, you’ll get in.

Anyway, obviously the best thing to do is turn in the best damn application you can, so even if you get rejected, it won’t be because you didn’t try your best

@dqjcr4 Thanks for all your advice! And yes, you are correct. In previous years the transfer rate has been higher.

@dqjcr4 oh wow. do you mind saying wear you found that I would like to see more data stuff to just compare schools

hopefully in 2 years the transfer rate will go up. (I hope the rate isn’t consistently going down!)

<a href=“BigFuture College Search”>BigFuture College Search;

You can check all the SAT ranges, transfer rates, etc. all using this tool. It’s all accurate too because it’s run by College Board.

I hope you guys are or have applied to more schools than just NU, right?

I applied to 10 schools lol.

NU or Bust!

jk

Here’s some good news for you guys:

[Northwestern to decrease acceptances for incoming freshmen - Campus - The Daily Northwestern - Northwestern University](http://www.dailynorthwestern.com/campus/northwestern-to-decrease-acceptances-for-incoming-freshmen-1.2702254#.T4ziOdW1yYE)

The transfer rate should go up this year.

@ dqjcr4: Well that sucks for freshman, lol. Damn, 10 schools? I only applied to 2!

I limited myself…3 schools all in the Chicagoland area… uh. Not wise, I know. This fall, if not accepted to NU, I will attend DePaul University. Not sure if anyone is familiar.

@Cluelessbelle Thank you so much for your positive outlook! I am negative Nancy so being that you are in the same boat as me, and still have a positive outlook is tremendously motivating :)

@dqjcr4 yay! (sorry guys dont mean to be mean) o.0

If you guys are applying to NU, you guys are definitely ambitious and will succeed at whichever school you attend!

oh yeah just curious, are you guys planning to go to grad school? And if yes, where would you apply?

That’s great news…however, they intend to enroll only 150 transfers…oh Dear Lord! lol.

After undergrad, I intend on applying to medical school. UCLA would be amazing…they have a great psychiatry program–my field of interest.

@ chicagolak23: Lol, no prob. I don’t like be pessimistic because you could get in with “below NU standards” (not saying yours are, lol), it does happen. Really, if you sell yourself well and get the committee to like you, mainly through your essays, recommendation, and current GPA, you’ll get in. I would argue that they should judge transfer students easier because college is usually tougher than HS. I know it has been for me.

Possibly an MBA but nothing else. And if I do it’s M-7 or bust.

Yep, I’m going to medical school. I’m looking at the Ivies and the like. My tops are Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Stanford. I have to work my ass of and get a 3.8-3.9 before applications for med school start, lol. This will probably be my last free summer b/c of that

@Cluelessbelle Yes you are correct. However, my current CC is NOT difficult. NOT academically challenging. Does NOT have a good record. Reason I went there–finanical struggle and had to work, not allowing my to enroll until one semester after what was supposed to be my freshman yr.
But thank you!  :)

oh nice UCLA is great! Im planning to apply there too as a transfer (in state)
