no matter what happens, i will be insanely excited for all of you that get accepted! you’ve worked insanely hard and deserve all the excitement!!!
For the people that don’t know including myself, does anyone know how many people got in early & How many spots are left? Also, whats the acceptance rate regular vs overall that is advertised at 18% since it is lower cause of early. Thank you!

I don’t remember the exact stats but about 1400 accepted ea, 828 defered, and more than 2k rejects.
For regular decision over the years the acceptance rate has been getting consistantly smaller.
2005 29%
2014 20.79%
2015 19.8%
2016 18.3%
Therefore it’s a pretty good assumption that 2017 will be somewhere within 17-18%
It might be easier to understand this number by saying that there is an 83% chance that the average applicant will be denied.

i found a slight typo in one of my essays…i’m toast :((
@maddieh5599 no that is nothing! It really is no big deal, tbh they probably won’t even notice it they read so many essays
Does anyone have any idea how many deferred applicants get in regular? or do not many deferred applicants get in? Good luck everyone!
I thought generally speaking that Notre Dame only defers candidates that they think have a fair shot RD. Don’t know a percentage, but I have always got the impression that you have a decent shot if deferred by Notre Dame or you would not have made the cut. Not so much at some of the others, like Georgetown.
it’s near the 2% area. Very low but there is no linearity with that number. It all entirely depends on how many people finally deny their acceptance and how many others ahead of you accept their admittance from deferral.
I wish more schools did that. I hate how so many schools defer so so so many people who don’t have a shot in rd.
So are we thinking today?
cough cough Georgetown @mimimo7890
I also heard from a friend at ND admissions that decisions will be released this evening.
Best of luck to all of you. You are all awesome and don’t forget it. Your value is not what others perceive you to be. The university accepts a large variety of people based on their needs and goals, which may not match with you but it does not mean you are unworthy or less. For those who are accepted, remain humble. For those of you declined, remain optimistic and always believe in yourself. “Never let your head hang down. Never give up and sit down and grieve. Find another way. And don’t pray when it rains if you don’t pray when the sun shines”, from Richard Nixon.
Thanks guys! I really hope we all get in! Y’all are such a nice group of people I would be so happy to go to school with you guys:) I just keep reminding myself that this is God’s plan. Whatever happens is his plan and is meant to be for each one of us, whether we get in or not. I hope his plan is that we get in though XD
@maddieh5599 my daughter had a type o in her essays for UM UF and Notre Dame. She got into UM and UF…good luck to you and to everyone else that has been so patiently or impatiently waiting! [-O<

The decisions will be coming out on Friday.
@tombrady22 how do you know
why do some say its today some say friday… imao friday does sound more late marchish… they keep saying late march :(( but then decisions usually come a week after the portal email…(speaking from experience being deferred) Just a thought but i wonder if admission directors are looking at us guessing dates and having a blast over it
Just wanted to add that mathematically, decision rates could be looking to fall to as low as 16.39%
