Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

ooo right haha my bad…
congrats! What time did
they email you? I cant
wait any longer uggggggghhhhhh

I finally received an email and my application is in the “final stages” and that I should be receiving a “decision shortly”. Shortly as in tomorrow or shortly as in within this hour? I am freaking out.

I’d take that as tomorrow or the next day, since they’ve already left the office for the day. I was told by the associate director of admissions via e-mail I’d be getting an admissions decision ‘very soon’ and got it just one day later, so… regardless of whether they send it today or tomorrow, the end of the long wait is definitely near for you  Good luck!

Has anyone else had trouble seeing their application status online? Because whenever I check it is gives me this message:
Below are the credentials we expect to process for your application and the processing status of each item. Please be aware that if you have two programs listed below, we are considering you for two distinct programs at NYU and that you will receive two admission decisions. Credentials submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions satisfy the application requirements for both programs. Please be aware that while items may be in our office, it may take several weeks before credentials are actually processed and reflected on this checklist.

But nothing comes up after that…It has been like this since the beginning and I did contact them but nothing was ever changed. I am worried that this could transfer into the credits page and my inability to see that too…?

I guess I have to be thankful that it’s nearly over… but I hope that it isn’t the end for me and NYU. This is my one chance at transferring into NYU and I made sure that I emphasized it a bit in my personal statement. I even described this as literally a once in a lifetime opportunity to obtain a bachelors in Real Estate there. I hope they aren’t cruel enough to deny me the opportunity. :-/

Nothing today. :/

@Vizhel, what did you write in your email?

oye guys… make sure u place your stats on this site
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1036986-nyu-2011-transfer-decisions-3.html</a>
or the NYU transfer accepted/rejected thread

@oldwumpusale:

I sent her an email stating that my final grades just came in and that I would like to know if she would like my updated transcript. I mentioned how I achieved a really high GPA this semester and that my CGPA rose from 3.25 to 3.35. She replied back an hour ago saying:

“You’re more than welcome to send another copy of your unofficial transcripts, however, your application is already in its final stages of the review process and you should be receiving a decision shortly.”

I really hope that the “You’re more than welcome to…” is a positive sign that I have been accepted. If I was an admissions counselor, I wouldn’t say that to someone knowing that he/she is already going to be rejected. It’s all up in the air right now.

I hopefully will be receiving my decision email tomorrow.

Against my better judgement, I reread my essay and short answer responses. I actually like them! I usually hate going back through my writing because I find so many mistakes, but I’m pretty proud of myself.
I hope I get a decision soon!

I am worried about my resume. I hope I didn’t make stupid errors on it or didn’t do a very good resume. It was my first one so I wasn’t too sure what to put on it. I hope they don’t weigh it too heavily since I’m not applying to work there.

TO ALL THOSE THAT GOT ACCEPTED AND REJECTED:

I am asking this question for my friend because I cannot answer his question. My friend has applied to Stern as well, and he did not receive a decision today. However, his transfer credits were uploaded today. For me, my transfer credits were uploaded the day before my acceptance.

Can the people who got accepted and rejected clarify this situation. As in, if your transfer credits are uploaded, does that meany you will be accepted. And is there anyone whose transfer credits were uploaded and became rejected.

Thank you for your time.

If transfer credits show up, you’re in. We haven’t had any person who had credits show up but end up rejected. It wouldn’t make sense for NYU to waste time calculating credits for a person to be rejected.

GOT ReJECTED FROM STERN TODAY!

Definitely sucks as I’ll be stuck at my current school that means.

To answer the previous question, I did not have my creidts show up, so seems like that’s a godo sign.

I had 3.73 GPA at a #50 school, but my HS grades were bad (3.1) but i didn’t think they would care about those that much. I had great business E.C. and I thought actually showing my business skills in the real world would be important to them - but apparently not! I guess if you don’t have the grades you don’t get to the E.C.s!

I’m pretty sure transfer credits mean you got accepted. It seems kind of like a waste of time to manually upload transferable credits for someone you’re going to reject, imo. In any case, mine appeared a little less than a day before I got an official e-mail saying I was accepted.

then what is the point of not giving a decision at the same time when they decide to upload the credits?

just be happy they are uploaded as it is!

my credits havent shown up nor have i heard anything. I did get an email from the assistant director of undergraduate admissions last week saying my decision will be released the second week of may but the week is almost over!!! what do you guys think! do u you think im rejected!

i also had no updates today. i think by friday most of us will get responses. and i wouldn’t worry too much about transfer credits. although its not AMAZINGLY AWESOME to see them right now, there is still a chance! it seems they are uploading them the day before acceptance, so its really quick and we still have a chance!

how many acceptances to film & tv?
