Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

ugh still no email or transfer credits showing… my guess is wednesday again, like last week?

If nothing else, I hope transfer credits show up today (That is, if we are accepted… Which at this point, we might as well be. It would only be fair for having to wait this long, haha).

@caligulashorse When you log into the NYU student home, it says email underneath the NYU Home logo. I have an nyu email cos I did a summer class there last year. Hope that is helpful!

Ugh, no transfer credits shown here either.

my transfer credits were posted this morning at around 10 am. but i haven’t gotten an email yet. of course i called the school and tried to find a loophole for them to tell me their decision, but it didn’t work. unfortunately the admissions counselor on the other end just made me more nervous by saying sometimes “things just get posted. it’s part of our new system. but you should here within the week.” now im just confused and worried!

At least you have your credits up :P

Just got accepted!!!

Congrats Gloablstudies!

@caligulashorse
I just got that email a few hours ago too. I found the email in the lower left hand corner of the home page but it doesn’t seem to be working yet =/

hey everyone, really glad i found this! i’ve only read the last few pages but i’ve been waiting to hear about my application and keep getting different answers about when i should find out from the admissions office. i applied as a sophomore transfer to steinhardt. for those of you who’ve been accepted, did you find out about financial aid with your acceptance?

^No. Fin-aid gets posted 3 days after you’re acceptance.

great, thanks for the info!! when i called the office of admissions to ask, they were really vague. something like “it should be included but if it’s not, call…” ugh.

For those applying to steinhardt what are your stats? and intended major?

I applied for the MCC and have a 3.88 GPA with 75 units completed now after i have sent in my spring grades. Transfer from a CCC in southern california.

still no credits showing :frowning:
im scared of tomorrow

@enve520 – Same here…

@WunNyne – Check about 10-15 pages back… I think around that time frame a few people on this thread got into Steinhardt and posted their stats.

I don’t think anyone has posted about Steinhardt MCC though. :(

I believe you’re right about MCC. :/

i applied to the MCC program as an incoming sophomore. i had a 3.5 GPA first semester (waiting on second semester grades). my previous school used a unit system but i think that i should have 32 credits for the year, i had a full courseload.
i’m assuming that my high school info will be considered, i had a 3.5 GPA and 1940 SATs.
i also have a decent amount of activites, two sports for all of high school and several jobs.
i still haven’t heard anything but at least it seems like not many people who applied to steinhardt have heard yet.

MCC certainly does seem to be dragging their feet. This is beginning to concern me because it may allude to an extremely competitive applicant pool. I posted my stats a few pages back, but the highlights are 3.72 gpa, honors program, phi theta kappa, and an outstanding letter of rec from an NYU alum with a BS, MPH, and Phd all from NYU. The longer this drags on the more indifferent I am becoming to the decision itself. At this point I just want an answer. But, at the same time I have been avoiding my email like the plague. Like many others on this thread, NYU is my top choice, 3 months ago I was extremely confident in my candidacy, now I am quite uncertain. This process has been agonizing, and waiting this long would make a rejection that much more disappointing.

I called NYU yesterday, and the admissions counselor I spoke to confirmed that they have everything they need from me.

I keep thinking that there are other things I could have done to strengthen my application. I have relatives that attended NYU, but I don’t think that really matters. I sent a brief email describing my summer internship, but I forgot to mention that the person I’m working for is an NYU Alumnus. I’m not sure that would really make a difference either…
