@mspivey2 & @car427: I did poorly on the math portion of the SATs. I got a 470, and I didn’t do much better when I retook it. And I know that doesn’t fulfill their math requirement. I just checked the CUNY website about requirements and it reads:

Transfer Students from outside CUNY:

Students with a 3 credit college-level math course with a grade of ‘C’ or better from an accredited college or university are considered proficient in math at all colleges.

I took Intermediate Algebra, which is 3 credits, and earned an A. I just emailed someone from Admissions to ask if it would satisfy the requirement. It would really make me mad if I didn’t get in with a 3.92 GPA! Plus, I’m taking another math course this summer.
The woman said my grades were really good, and the math is the only issue.

@xpandachuy: Two Cs is not too good… But you never know. My GPA was a 3.3. I’ll post on that thread shortly.

@Monoclide

yeah, I know…

Hopefully, all my other stuff I’ve done from high school to now can even that out.

I GOT IN I GOT IN I GOT IN

2.58 gpa first semester from an art school. I transferred to a cc. 4.0 at cc for like 54 credits.

Applied to CAS art history/ pre business

IM SO HAPPY
I screamed and ran around for so long haha

Hope my stats bring hope and good luck to all!

Oh yeah I’m doing nyu summer abroad in Spain this summer

@bellatheball i think college level math courses are more like Calculus& Statisics but i could be wrong.

How many people still haven’t heard back from CAS?

@Lauren, I STILL haven’t heard back from CAS!! I applied in January! This is absolutely insane…

Has anyone from MCC tried calling or finding out what the hold up is for our program? It’s getting a bit ridiculous that no one has heard any decision from them… I mean, seriously it’s about to be JUNE.

ACCEPTED !!!
I applied to CAS for biology =)
Do they still have housing for transfer students ??

I haven’t heard back from tisch :(

@CJE224

I heard they didn’t have anymore room for housing, but you should call them and check. Congrats, too!

I must say I’m jealous. I want to hear from them soon ><!

ok guys …if you get accepted or rejected…please do post your stats on the following thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1036986-nyu-2011-transfer-decisions.html?highlight=nyu
it will only take 2 too 3 min’s of you life…thank you

Mspivey, thanks for sharing. Any other accepted Tischies willing to share their GPA or stats? Just curious. Specifically, what college math did you take? Congrats again to all of those who got in, that’s an accomplishment and a half.

I’m just worried that if I get in at this point and I am able to go, I am going to be screwing over my friends at my back-up school. I have to sign a lease either this weekend or early next week to live in the house (it is a great living situation that I definitely lucked out on considering living on-campus wasn’t an option in my mind). I just selfishly want it all, haha.

Are applicants ever rejected after having their credits show up? My credits showed up today and also has nyu’s equivalent courses filled out such as: MAP-UA 7–. I’m wondering if this is a sure sign that I have been accepted, or if they also do this for applicants that they deny. My status says “tentative” on the course credit page, does that mean I probably wont be accepted? Also, My financial aid page still says that there is no information found.
What do you think? I’d really appreciate people’s opinions / experiences.

btw my transfer credits still arent posted! and i got my email around 1pm

post you stats… http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1036986-nyu-2011-transfer-decisions.html?highlight=nyu
