Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

@needsrepose !! i applied to CAS as a math major as well!!! what year?

I’m applying as an incoming sophomore.

I was accepted on monday and I officially enrolled on tuesday, but I still haven’t been sent anything regarding housing or enrollment for classes…Anyone else in this same position? I am afraid they are going to run out of housing soon

@GlobalStudies I accepted my admissions offer on the 10th, and I just received housing information last night. Enrollment for classes should happen when we go through orientation, but I haven’t received any information about that yet.

@needsrepose
that’s awesome :slight_smile: i’m transferring as a junior

good luck!

Just got accepted to CAS today!

@KingSundru I just got housing information too but I am not living on campus so I don’t need it. I wonder when orientation will be…?

@transfer4444 CONGRATS! :)

@GloablStudies - I think it just takes them a while to send the e-mail about housing. I accepted more than a week ago and only got an e-mail about housing a few days ago (I don’t need any, though).

is there housing available???!!!

NYU –

Apparently, the world may end today. It would be the morally right thing for you to let me know if I would be accepted for the fall or not. C’mon!

@srivera617 My e-mail indicated there is. I’ll paste it:

As a newly admitted student, the Academic Year 2011-2012 housing application is currently available to you. Attached to this email are instructions on accessing and completing the application. In addition, you will find a payment coupon that outlines your reservation payment options. The NYU Housing website ([Living at NYU](Housing and Dining)) will provide you with information on specific residence halls, as well as housing and dining rates. Please review these materials carefully prior to competing the application.

If you have already accessed the Housing Forms channel, you can confirm the completion of your application and the submission of your reservation payment through the “Application and Deposit Status” step at the bottom of the Application menu.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING THE HOUSING APPLICATION AND $1000 HOUSING RESERVATION PAYMENT IS JUNE 1, 2011.

Jesus, $1000 bucks deposit? Is it just me or is that a lot…?

Yeah, I think so, too. It’s about double the deposit my other schools wanted.

Um … Deadline is June 1st, but a lot of us haven’t received a decision yet …

Wow! $1000 for a housing deposit. Now I think other people’s option of off-campus living is much cheaper. Plus, I still don’t have any transfer credits. I don’t know anymore. Maybe I’ll try my luck with NYU for medical school.

@ Lauren229, you totally made my morning. :)

For those who have been accepted (specifically to CAS), have you heard anything about orientation?

Hey guys, I just got rejected by NYU but I got into BU though so I’m happy : )
C’grats to those of you who got in, you guys deserve it. For those who are still waiting, well good luck, I know how you feel, waited 6 weeks for mine too : )

Anyway, if you guys don’t mind, could you e-mail me your Common App essays. I’m curious to know what it is that make them extra special. I will never publish this anywhere else, I promise. This will strictly be just for my eyes and after I’ve read it, I’ll delete it. I’m just a lil curious that’s all.

Send me a PM for my email address.

Have a nice day ppl, it’s been a good day for me : )

Oh and it would also help if you could indicate which school you got accepted into and a lil stats. A couple of you didn’t…thanks again guys : )

For those considering housing…which residency are you guys looking to go into? I’m really puzzled on this, I’m not sure if the “first year student” buildings are only for freshman or also apply to transfers.

I guess I’m ideally looking for my own bed room (not sure if thats what the apartment ones are) or a single thats a walking distance from campus. Any help?
