@Srivera617: They will get back to you tmro. I think as soon as you email them, they will update your address. I email the undergrad admission office.
@Coolio2244242: Totally agree!!! I mean they don’t seem like update Albert really…coz When my Albert said my application is incomplete, it didn’t show me what I am missing. So we should either wait or email admission office to make sure everything is okay.

Hi guys, I just got my NETID today. logged into Albert and all and it says they have documents missing. more than that, they said i haven’t mailed in standardized testing… I’ve never taken SAT or ACT before and I’ve seen it written on their website that if i’ve been enrolled in college for more than a year i’m exempted.

Am I in trouble? I applied to Stern if that matters. :(

uuinus, like we’re saying, it’s ok if Albert says you don’t have **** in. Albert is very wrong (I sent my high school transcript in a month before the deadline and Albert says it still doesn’t have it). They’ll more than likely email you if you’re missing something.

And it says I’m missing test scores too but I called today and they said if you completed a year of college then they are not necessary to send in.

yes i also sent in transcripts a month before the deadline and two of them still dont show up on albert. I called today and they assured me that “no news is good news”. they seem to still be dealing with freshmen applicants and not even reviewing transfers yet.

Hey guys, I didn’t get into NYU last year, would it affect me now?

You applied as a freshman liangg? I feel like it SHOULDN’T affect you, but that doesn’t mean it won’t (because I don’t work for their admissions…).

I actually don’t really know how it would hurt you because I feel like it shows you really want to go there.

yes I did apply in high school for early decision.
I was so worried coz I heard people were saying if they don’t want you the first time, they won’t want you later

When I log into my albert page, all it says is that my application is incomplete, what school I am applying for, and when I turned in my application. It doesn’t specifically tell me what I am missing. How do you guys know what you are missing?

What is this Albert that people are talking about? I applied with AY Application System for SCPS.

"Welcome to NYU Albert!
Named after New York University founding father Albert Gallatin, Albert is an electronic information service that provides “self-service” access to a wide variety of student information through NYU Web.

For applicants, Albert offers a portal through which you will be able to check the status of your application for admission. Students who are offered admission will reply to the offer through Albert, and will be able to view their financial aid award online.

If you attend NYU, Albert is the gateway to your personal information and academic history, including courses, grades, transcript information, and much more."

I Love Albert

Well, first of all, I sent in my SAT scores, regardless of their requirement (cause I didn’t know at the time).

And I called NYU Admissions office last Wednesday to ask them if they had received all my information and the lady said that they had. Earlier today, I got an email giving me my netID and university ID. It took them a whole of 19 days to send it to me.

Uuinus, I had a lot of conflicting info. When I went to the information session, the Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions said that if you’re in the process of completing 30 or more credits, you’re not required to send scores. The tour guide said the same thing. I checked Albert and it said I was missing SAT scores, so I called them. The man I spoke to told me that standardized test scores are not required if you have completed 1 full year of study already.

It took them 11 days to send my NetID, so I’m pretty impressed. They did it in record time.

yea so for those who are applying with only one semester’s worth of grades, you do have to send them. You have to have 30 credits to not send them, correct?

@srivera617

I didn’t apply this year but the whole standardized testing is similar to USC’s policy where if you have 30 units your HS record will have no weight. There is discrepancy in whether the 30 units need to be completed at the time of the application or if you are in the course of completing them.

If I were applying in my first semester with only one semester’s worth of units, I would send the standardized scores. NYU is a very competitive school and one semester’s worth of college grades will not make up for an average HS record. In addition, the scores give the committee more information to draw for the decision.

If I were applying as a sophomore, or with 3 semester’s worth of units I would still send the scores. (Of course following that they were at or above par with NYU’s freshman stats). If the scores would hurt me then I would not send them.

I still haven’t get my NetID yet!!! I called last week, and someone told me NYU did not send out any NetID, and the only way you can track ur application status is to call them!!! That is such a joke!!!

@sasamiss813, they said that? I got an official email from them about my NetID.

And you CAN set up your NetID yourself. You have to go to their site, click on the NetID thing, then find a link that says “forgot NetID” or something. You have to type in your SSN, name and DOB and you should be good. Then you set up a password and you can log in.

The NetID isn’t even worth it though…it’s just a link to tell you that they don’t have the stuff that you sent in years ago.

Also, where the Hell did they come up with the name for the system…“Albert”? That’s such a weird-ass name (no offense to anyone named Albert).

^It’s after Albert Gallatin, the founder of NYU.

@coolio2244242: Thanks a lot! I tried it, but I guess I am not in their system yet. I will definitely call them tomorrow>…

This whole sending standardized test scores sucks for me, because I have low SAT scores. There goes my chances of getting in…
