Official NYU 2011 Transfer Thread

@bellatheball… ik no what u mean… i have a 1740 but a 4.0 in college and i still feel as if my sats is whats going to hold me down yet again in this admission decision.

@giantmidget, haha thanks. That makes a bit more sense.

And bella and srivera, I’m assuming you two are freshmen, right?

Srivera, depending on the difficulty of your current school, I think your 4.0 does a great job at redeeming your SAT score.

ok… i come from marymount manhattan college in nyc, its an okay school, no NYU tho. hopefully my college gpa and hs gpa (97) will help me get in.

@coolio: Yes, I’m a freshmen. I hope my high school and college gpa will help me out. I also hope I’m an interesting applicant to them.

Will they email you if something is missing?

My albert page thing says my application is incomplete, but it doesnt say what specifically is missing.

Thanks.

I’m a little confused with Albert, because it does not list secondary school report, college official’s report, or recommendations as items. It only has high school and college transcripts, and standardized test scores. Why is that?

Just got my acceptance email for Gallatin! Not showing up in Albert yet, though…

Congrats thecatcher!! When did you send in your app?

Congrats on the acceptance. Be sure to post your stats on http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1036986-nyu-2011-transfer-decisions.html</a> for future transfers. Congratulations again.

i know my friend’s friend got into gallatin too… now im getting nervous

@thecatcher: when did you submit your app?

how are gallatin applicants already getting their decisions…??

also, i’m confused with Albert because I sent in my HS transcript way before my college transcript and Albert has the HS one confirmed but not the college one…

Thanks a lot guys! I submitted mine on the deadline (April 1st – only two weeks ago) which is why I’m so surprised… The email says I need to accept the offer within three weeks, which also surprised me (I probably won’t even have any of my other decisions back by then). I guess they just like to get admissions squared away quickly at Gallatin!

Best of luck to all of you!

@thecatcher – what r ur stats? and what year r u transferring into?

I’m glad to find out that others Albert statuses aren’t all updated too…mine hasn’t been updated in a LONG time. I had my HS transcripts sent in December and then again in February just in case, and it still hasn’t been updated. But I’m not worrying too much about it anymore.

I was at a meeting with one of the undergrad program director at Steinhardt about my transferring and my portfolio about a month ago, and he said they try to get their decisions out as soon as they can, and will most likely have them out before the deadline. He also said (since I have to let another school know my decision by May 1st if NYU doesn’t work out) that if you still haven’t received an email about a week before may, you can call and they should be able to let you know the decision over the phone, or speed up the process.

Hopefully we’ll all be hearing back soon!

Hey guys, how are you checking the status of your individual application parts? When I go to Albert under “Application Status” it just says “This application is incomplete” and the date I applied and such, but no individual parts. I haven’t gotten any emails from them asking for more parts. What’s going on?

well i guess thats good that we will start finding out soon. its good to no that they will tell you the week before may first.

**edit: above, i meant they said they have my college one and not my HS one…from what everyone’s saying though, I guess it sounds like they’re not too organized about confirming the status of things relative to when they’re sent in…

I was just offered admission. No word on financial aid yet, though.

^ Was it by email or mail?
