has anyone else’s application status disappeared? up until today, my portal on Albert said “this application is incomplete” (I checked with the office of admissions, and they assured me that they had received all of my documents) But today the status of my application disappeared…

yea, mines disappeared too today

yea, mine is gone as well. and no i dont have any transfer credit listed.

tofumaster – that may be a good thing… what school have you applied too and when did you? what r ur stats? i dont no why they would post that, and it seems a little sneaky the way they answered you… it is probably a good sign… does anyone elses say that

uhh i applied to CAS for politics

Stats: Transferring from Carnegie Mellon,

GPA: 3.66/4.0
SAT: 2170/2400

My application status disappeared too! Plus i click on transfer credits and a URL has popped up but when I click it nothing pops up. I wonder why?
I applied back in February so I am just waiting now!

Hi everyone! I am a second-semester senior in high school right now, and although I did not apply to NYU (due to personal/financial reasons), I’m now very interested in transferring following my upcoming first year of college. I’ve read every single page of this thread (crazy, I know) and it’s helped quite a bit! Thank you to everyone who’s contributed.
This fall and next spring, I’ll be attending the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs Business School, but despite its reputation as an esteemed institution, I’ve decided that business isn’t really what I want to do–it was just a backup if I didn’t get into the two Ivy’s I applied to for English. Over the past few days, I had an epiphany and realized that my true passion lies with English and Philosophy, and I noticed that NYU had stellar programs for both, so my interest for NYU’s CAS has been captured.

I’ve done some research, but obviously not enough, since I’m still pretty naive when it comes to applications and college in general (I only did 3). Thus, I was wondering if those of you who just went through the application process (and college!) could give me a few pointers?

What portions of the application should I immediately begin preparing for?

How can I establish a relationship with my professors from the start? Will it be relatively easy? I have this assumption that they’re scary and I’m just a number.

Should I get as involved as I possibly can or should I put focus on my studies?

What classes should I look into for my freshman year? or if I could get directed…

Also, these are my stats as a high schooler:
GPA: 3.97/4.00; Ranked 5/429
SAT: 2100
ACT: 29 (with 32 in English and 33 in Reading – why I’m keen on a English major)
Waitlisted at Rice, rejected from Stanford.
EC’s/honors: Speech/Debate - Treasurer, 4 years, state/national/Tournament of Champions qualified, competed in multiple events and at over 50 tournaments, easily.
Newspaper - Editor in chief, 2 years
Orchestra - 1st chair 1st violin, 2nd chair 2nd violin, 2 years
National Honor Society - President
Senior Women Club (service club for seniors) - President
Tennis - 1 yr
Church - band lead singer (2 yrs) and youth group member
Volunteer debate coach and judge
Worked as a tutor for children K-9 in Math/Reading.
DAR Good Citizenship Award
And I have other additional community services.

Will all of this weigh in on the consideration of my transfer?

That’s all I got for now, but I’m sure this can help me, and possibly others in my situation, with the overall process.
Sorry for the long post and intruding amidst a discussion of admission decisions. I’m so lost–I’d appreciate any help.

tofumaster9: I think you got in! They only posted my transferred courses after I was admitted!! You should check your application status page to check if there is a green “Admissions Decision” button on the top right-hand corner!!

Agree with @philgirl. I don’t think they would go through each individual course and offer credit for them only to deny that applicant. Too much unnecessary work.

And @philgirl you found out through Albert? I thought it was email. You should post a screenshot off this green “Admission Decision” button.

OOH, i really hope it means that! But no green “admissions decision” yet!

Haha great. I really hope I get in, or else my birthday (May 14) is going to suck…

And my status is still incomplete. I know I shouldn’t obsess over something as trivial as a status that has been incorrect since day 1, but you guys are stressing me out more!

Though I’ll be happy if I get into ANY of teh schools I applied to, NYU is my number 1, so I’ll be disappointed if that’s a no-go.

My status disappears too!does it mean they begin to review our application?
BTW. in my credit transfer page…they put my nick name instead of my official nameeeeee
whyyyy

Could mean that NYU is reviewing those applications but who knows. At this point, everything is all speculation.

@liangg
Did you designate a nickname on your application? If so, that could be the reason.

wow tofumaster thats really lucky!! when did u apply to NYU?
i wish my transfer courses were listed

I applied March 10th or so. But yea, Mitch is right…until the official notification, this is all just speculation

I heard through email, but when I checked my application status after I got the email, it showed all my application things and there was a little green button. Will post a photo of it soon!!

What school did you apply to, tofumaster9?

CAS politics

Do you guys mean that the “Application Status” link under Admissions has disappeared and now you only see the “Transfer Credit” link?

I applied in February and I still have that link and it lists the items I do and don’t have. I have called and they have received everything. I did, however, email an updated letter explaining my low high school grades about a day ago, and they responded saying they’ve added it to my file so I’m assuming they haven’t started mine yet.

I submitted my application back in Mid-January…the 5 months of waiting are almost over!
