@bellatheball I applied for neuroscience. In my why transfer essay, as well as the first personal statement, I address my desire to learn more about the human brain and some other stuff like that. I also mentioned how NYU’s neuroscience undergrad program is well structured with specific courses etc.

I’m also pretty into business, so if I do get in, I’d wanna double major in neuroscience/econ, but I’m trying not to get ahead of myself here ;)

@football462: I applied for biology (pre-med program). In my essay, I talked about my experience visiting NYU for the first time. I talked about the diversity, study abroad program, professor accessibility, the students and the different colleges/schools under NYU’s umbrella.

@bellatheball Nice we’re in the pre-med track
what were your SAT scores if you don’t mind me asking? Also I see your applying for umass amherst too. I’m actually leaving here so
Hopefully we both get into nyu though.

They have everything. That was fast, lol. I only sent in my college transcript yesterday, but Albert now shows that they have it, so I called just to make sure.

The lady again told me that they didn’t have the high school transcript, but I asked her to physically check and she said that its in the file.

Now, just to wait for the decision. Hurry up NYU!

Oh I didn’t realize that SCPS had those requirements because I couldn’t even find a place to attach my SAT stuff on the online application. I’m applying to study real estate. I know that SCPS is different from the other schools because they follow an holistic approach since it caters to adult students and not to traditional students. I feel that I have a good chance at getting in because my personal statement, teacher recommendations, and short answers are all fantastic. My CGPA is only about 3.3, which is .3 above what they’re “looking for” on the transcript, but the others balance it out.

I hope I receive a positive response by this Friday because it would make my weekend like heaven before my final on Tuesday.

@bellatheball. I was wondering the same thing. Why are people expecting decisions by the end of the week? It isn’t even May yet.
& thanks for the tip. I called twice hoping they would tell me if all of my materials were received, but now I’ll ask to be transferred to an admissions counselor first. :P

Is anyone else having trouble viewing their transfer credit or application status on Albert. I can log in, but I get This webpage is not available or it logs me out if I click on either of those.

Also, why are so many people calling admissions? Is it just about missing documents? I’m assuming they have all of my documents since Albert stopped saying Application is incomplete…

I’m having the same problem with Albert.
& I called admissions because Albert shows that my application is incomplete. I just don’t want to be caught off guard at the very last minute and have to run back to my high school to resend a transcript. :

@Keachoy

SCPS has rolling admissions so it’s basically 2-3 weeks after all of the materials have been submitted and processed. Their deadline is technically August 15th but it wouldn’t be wise to wait until the deadline. I got an email from my admissions officer stating that a decision will be rendered by this week or early next week.

@Vihzel. Thank you. I’ll definitely call an admissions counselor today.
I actually called the front desk of the office of admissions twice. Whenever I mentioned checking the status of my materials, they told me I needed to wait to see if I get an email notifying me that I was missing something.

@football462: I’m terrible at standardized test scores and I have extenuating circumstances, so it’s 1610 (yikes!).

I actually applied and was accepted to UMass-Amherst last year, but I really wanted to go to Emerson. I hear they do a lot of medical research. What don’t you like about UMass-Amherst? I’m sort of looking at it, because I think it might be a good safety. However, I really like NYU and I live much closer to NYC. I could go home and do my laundry, then be back in a few hours (I love free laundry. lol). :)

@Keyachoy that happened to me yesterday- but now it’s fixed try again.

ALBERT is not reliable call NYU and tell teh S. Ambassador- to please transfer you to an admissions counselor- that way you know for sure. The lady I spoke with yesterday was very kind.

@bellatheball It is a good safety school, which is what happened to me for freshman admissions
but, idk, I just don’t like the vibe, and the majority of people here are complete idiots (no offense to anyone who goes there, i don’t mean it personally), but maybe you’ll have that in every college. I have heard good things about the medical research which is why I didn’t mind going there that much at first, but it really can’t be compared to NYU imo. Also, I am also a fan of very urban and busy environments. NYC is the prototype for that type of environment.

I’m just worried that since I’m only applying as a sophomore, theyll think too much of my terrible HS gpa (~2.5)

And yes free laundry is always a good thing :)

@football462: I was thinking about transferring into the Commonwealth Honors College if I end up going there. I love NYU, but the cost is a little scary. I’ve also applied to other schools in NYC and just outside of it.

I’m in the same position. I’m worried about my HS gpa as well (3.547 - 3.6 - not really sure).

Hey guys,
So I called admissions today and they confirmed that they will be sending out admissions decisions starting this week!!! Also, they said your transfer credits will show up in you Albert upon you being admit to the University!!! Good Luck Everyone
so excited for NYU

@likewow on ALbert did it say your app was complete?

@ellomeno yes, it had all of my things check off as being in. Honestly, I think what they are doing is if all of your material has been check off it probably means that your app has been/ or is under review by a counselor.

@likewow what are your stats and which school are you applying to & major

that’s exciting hope you get in are you coming from a 2 year?

@ellomeno this is what I posted for someone else earlier! Good luck to you 2
-Sophmore at a Private 4 University
-gpa. 3.47 - I made the deans list at school for 2/3 semesters I have been here. I explained in my essay that one of my semesters I was unable to do well in a physc class and got a C+ and that brought my gpa down to a 3.43 from a 3.5 which is an A- average on our scale, also I am in my universities Honors program so I have more rigorous classes.
