The wait is so aggravating… anyone know the acceptance rate to CAS?
I feel like so long you maintain good grades, write good essays etc etc you have a decent chance of getting in. Definitely easier than getting into a school like UCLA… Plus if NYU really is in debt then wouldn’t they be inclined to offer more students admission because it seems like many students who get in do not end up going because of the cost and sub-par financial aid. Opinions?

Hey guys, I’ve been following this thread for a while, but have never posted.

I was accepted to CAS for Politics and Chinese on Thursday, April 28th. I applied around March 15th, so I definitely don’t think they’re reading apps on the basis of when they came in. I’m still waiting to see if I get a merit award since NYU is so expensive!

@hello92

idk if they’re doing it “as they come in” because I submitted my application to CAS for neuroscience February 2nd and turned in my mid-term report March 14th and I haven’t heard anything. Hopefully this doesn’t mean I was rejected and they’re holding the rejections until the “end” of the notifying period.

EDIT: ah excuse me I didn’t read properly, you said what I said, my bad, I just woke up…In any case, yes I agree with you then lol.

@hello92 - what’re your stats?

I only know that I will be getting a reply soon because my school does rolling admissions and it takes roughly 2-3 weeks to render a decision once the application materials are all processed. I’ve been talking with my admissions counselor and she told me that I would get an answer either later this week or early next week. This week is over for emails so I suspect to receive it early next week… during my finals…

The Paul McGhee division of SCPS is very different from all other schools.

vihzel - i applied to SCPS but the Preston School of Hospitality – i was wondering when i would maybe here from them…

So really no one else applied to transfer into the global liberal studies program?? I guess that could be a good thing for me…less competition haha.

@srivera617:

I think you will find out with the rest of the schools. I don’t think the Preston School is on a rolling admissions basis.

@vihzel: Preston School doesn’t do rolling? then why does it take them so long? I applied Feb 28

@global studies not all transfers applying to global studies use this site you know…

@liangg:

Because they wait until the deadline to gather all of the applications together and look at them together. McGhee does it holistically… as in they just look at your application and see if you’re a good fit for the school; no direct competition with other potential students.

Any nursing transfers here? Trying to figure out how hard it is to get accepted into the 4 year program.

Any other reports of this?

Try another browser. I keep on getting weird messages sometimes on either Safari and Firefox, but when I try the other, it works.

Hi spiffyspaceman, I’ve applied to transfer for the traditional BSN also. I will be transferring as a junior.
HS GPA only a 3.3 but college GPA is a 3.67

I’ve been bugging the assistant director of admissions for some time now. She’s told me that the average accepted GPA for nursing transfers has been 3.4 so we seem to be good academically. I don’t know exactly how competitive it is because I have seen many students whom I would assume aren’t considered competitive offered admission, however there are only about 150-200 spots available for over 1000 applicants to the college of nursing

Thanks for the reply, nyca515. I’ve been trying to do so much research for what it takes to get admitted into the nursing program but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of information out there. It’s good and a relief to hear that I’m above the GPA average. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see… good luck to you!

good luck to you too :)

I’ve tried switching browsers and computers. I get these errors everywhere i login. Hopefully it’s not a bad sign as if they cancelled my login with a rejection, which I’m not expecting since I still have my NYUHome and Albert account, just not app status/transfer credits. I’m assuming that they are making changes/updates to my account and maybe it will go live May 1st or early next week.

Is everyone accessing their app status okay?

@brandon - I can access my app status fine :|
