I can access mine as well, but there have been a couple of times when it’s done that. Don’t read into things that much, you’ll drive yourself crazy.

…speaking of crazy… I would love to hear something soon. I think I might explode if I am accepted… It’s sort of hard to breathe just thinking about this stuff…

I’ve been watching this site for a while and haven’t posted until now.

Out of curiousity, what do you guys think my chances of admission will be with the following?
Coming in as a Junior transfer student from a community college:
College GPA – 3.79 (though this is expected to rise to a 3.8 or higher after the end of this semester)
College Activities – Working Part time as a secretary for 3 years in the same office, a part of the college radio station for the past two years with an on-air show & college paper, scattering of volunteer work throughout, honors program with honors classes and the like, ptk honors society
I also sent in a recommendation from my honors english teacher which was absolutely lovely and complimentary (I did only send in one letter though)
I have no clue if my rec. letter or mid term report were received, but my sat scores and hs and college transcripts were received.
HS GPA – 3.43 (not so fantastic)
HS Activities – Secretary for SADD, historian for International Cultures Club, Key Club member, vice-president of a volunteer organization, intern for a legislative senator during the summer before my senior year.
SAT – 570 writing, 570 math, 660 english (all together 1800 out of 2400)… I also sent in a couple of other sat scores for the individualized tests

I applied to CAS as a political science major.

Thank you in advance, everyone. I am just ridiculously nervous and am dying to be accepted

@Lauren229 - I think you have a good chance, especially since applying for junior entry means that your SAT scores aren’t waited that much. In fact, you didn’t even need to send them if you have 30+ credits.

Hey everyone Im new to this site as well and I must say that my anxiety level has been going crazy waiting for a response from NYU. I hope we all get in and I wish everyone the best of luck. Im applying as a sophmore.

Sorry for posting this as it may have already been discussed, but I keep hearing conflicting stories about how Tisch students are considered. Is is true you have to pass both Tisch admissions and general admissions separately? And if so, will general admissions view your portfolio as well?

Curious because I’ve heard it’s okay if you have a slightly lower gap for Tisch. My gps is below the NYU transfer average and without my portfolio I’m not sure I stand much of a chance.

Out of curiousity, has anyone on here applied to NYU previously as a freshmen and are now reapplying as a transfer student?

Also, does anyone know if NYU is a part of the group of colleges that will give priority to transfer students who are reapplying to one of their schools after applying as a freshmen?

My friend goes to the Tisch school and said that as long as you have an amazing portfolio, that will outweigh everything else. So even if you don’t meet NYU’s “GPA/Test Scores” segment, it really won’t play as big of a part as if you were applying to a different school besides Tisch… Sorry this didn’t answer a good portion of your question.

Sigh, I had a feeling they’d go with 2 May this year rather than 1 May since it is, in fact, a Sunday. But, I’m hoping we start receiving notifications tomorrow. And good ones.

I had applied as a freshman, and am now applying to enter as a junior. I wanted to use college to my advantage…getting some gen-eds & the college shift out of the way as well as saving money. I don’t think NYU will give us priority. The admissions office has said they only keep documents for 1 year. Meaning, they wouldn’t really have a record of us. The commonapp area that allows us to indicate whether we had previously applied would just show our interest in NYU rather than put us at the top of the stack.

I am in the same boat then. I originally applied as a freshman and got in but only on the condition that I kept a 3.0 during my first two years (it was a special program within CAS for those who made the cut but weren’t as fantastic as every other normally accepted applicant). In any case, I’m also reapplying as a junior wanting to get another acceptance after taking a lot of the required courses elsewhere :/. Though, on the common app, I did mark down that I had applied to the school prior to this year.

i applied as a freshman for soph year, 4.0 first semester of college, 4.0 midterm report, 2250 sat, 800 r 760 w 680 m… but i had a high school gpa of 2.9… do i stand a chance?

You’re doing a great job this year! It depends on which school you’re applying to at NYU. Unless you have at least 30 credits already done they will still look at your high school record. Over 30 credits & they’ll look more heavily at whatever you’ve done at university.
If you don’t get in, apply for spring transfer maybe?
We only have a little while left until we find out & you can always make a phone appointment with an admissions counselor to find out what you should do next year to secure your chances.

huh thats good thanks, i applied to cas… im a little worried bc i havent gotten into a school for next year yet - only waitlisted at colgate and reed - and i dont want to do another semester at maine…

Hey guys, quick question. Does anyone else’s Albert have their application date listed anytime after they actually applied? Mine says April 8th although I applied on the 1st. I figure it just indicates the date the office downloaded it but I wanted to throw it out there to see if there were any insights/similar occurences.
