AND YES! we should all be accepted if we care this much. I mean aren’t we all qualified here?

SAT: 2140 (600M 760CR 780W)
SAT II: 750, 710
APs: 5 and 4 (taking 5 more this year)
GPA: 3.7 UW
Good essays
Strong recs
School: Steinhardt
White female from Atlanta, GA

h20 i wish that were the case… i don’t think nyu has that much time to spend on each app as other schools because they get so many… and i think they finish their decisions by mid february or so because thats when all the GSP applicants get their letter and also on their website it says they can’t take the jan sat this year because its too late…

good luck to everyone because you all have great stats.

i really hope the pple here aren’t the average apps. i’d have no chance if that were the case.

i heard admin officers spend about 15-30 mins on e/ app. (ie: wellesley)
that’s probably not the case for nyu tho. maybe 5-10?

CC kids are much smarter than the average applicant, thats for sure.

yeah, 2000 SAT sux on CC

(well, it kinda sux universally anyway)

meh, 2000 is pretty good IMO

it seems like the new “1300”

SAT: 2120

GPA: around a 3.5 UW

SAT 2: 730/690/660

14 APs/4 honors (so far 5,5,5,5,4,3)

decent essays

good recs

Applying to CAS

just my two cents: schools like CAS and Stern are more SAT centered, I think this is mainly because they want higher averages to make the school look more competitive. Although I could be wrong, I dont know as much about NYU as a lot of you.

SAT: 2280
SAT II: 800/800/730
GPA: 96ish, 2nd in class
EC: Politics
Stern, Asian, Canadian

I disagree with the idea that CC kids are much smarter than non-CC kids. I think the people on CC is representative of the general population, no? CAS is definitely going to be a reach for everyone, for sure.

the general population has an average SAT of ~500 on each subject. everyone here is way above average.

SAT:2030 or (1390)
SAT II:720/740/770
GPA: 3.88 UW
6 APs and 8 Honors
Great EC: School president, Varsity School Captain, School Rock Band Bassist, School News Paper Assistant editor.
Summer Job: Internship at Law Firm
Applying to: CAS
From Shanghai, Korean Male.

SAT:2260 (800M, 740CR, 720W)
SAT II: 800, 800, 740
GPA: IB point total 37
EC varying from internship at Samsung to Varsity Football and School Prefect
School: Stern
Personal: Korean male, Toronto, Canada

no CC people are definitley above avg.

i don’t think the avg person would care enough to talk about college online with other strangers.

hey! I got 2000, and it would come out to 1380 thank you very much… also, I missed 2 questions on the Math that, if I had gotten, I would have had a 2060 or, 1440…
ah well…

35000 apps…the more i think about it the dizzier i get. how the hell are they going to read all those essays? this is unfortunate for pple who have avg stats
like me

the good news is that in selectivity rank, it’s actually just near UCSB, which, as any Cali resident knows, is a piece of cake for people with good but not fantastic stats.

Then that means NYU should count on the essays more than the stats, but as rumor has it, NYU DOES count on the stats…more. That’s just a rumor, but rumors do have some base of truth. Vagrant star what do you mean by “good” stats.

kevzzang are your stats representative of the koreans living in shanghai?

“the good news is that in selectivity rank, it’s actually just near UCSB”

False.

The UCs and the entire state of CA are in decline.
