Lakshya M, that was the experimental section. My version of the test is obviosly the same as yours… and btw I’ve got 70^2 on the computer problem. pfuuu thank god is experimental :)

Yeah, ok so tell me was the question about a line 3x + 4y =5 and…
in that section? I made a mistake in that so I hope its experimental.

yeah…never got that question either

you mean you didnt see a question about a line 3x + 4y = 5 and another line perpendicular to it passing through the origin and also (12,k)…???

Sorry for asking again I just want to make sure coz i only made a mistake in this and another q’ so it would be great if the question is frm an exp section!!

Yea, that section is definitely experimental. I never saw that 12,k or the computer question. You are in luck, Lakshya.

Unfortunately the opposite happened to me for CR…

Lakshya M: I never got that question, nor did I get a computer problem that everyone seems to be discussing

Lakshya M, u r correct the question was exactly in this section… it was pretty easy, though. The answer was 3/5 i think, but i’m having the hardest time to remember

Yayy!!!
Now the only possibility(for that not to be a exp) left is that maybe our papers were different coz im in the UAE!!

I know I am a pessimist!

to martin: The answer was 16 though and i checked -16

dont worry, as I said our papers are obviously the same - the 4th section is exp…
btw what do u think about the other portions of the test ?

to Lakshya M, as I said i can’t remember :)

thx man!
Math was really good for me (since now my tally of mistakes comes down to 1, Yayy!)
CR was INSANE and writing was fine

What was your essay topic??

About the computer problem: The answer was 70^2, because the question asked how many TIMES greater is the number of 6-character strings than the number of 4-character strings…which means you had to divide.

It was how many TIMES…aww crap I was under the impression that it was by HOW MUCH is it greater…
Well, thank god that section is exp
Phew!!

if y is inversely related to x than 1/x^2 is directly related to:

1/y, y, y^2, 1/y^2

AND

what is the sum of the first 50 terms of the sequence 1/(23), 1/(34),
1/(4*5), . . .

i remember two choices were 50/51 and one was 49/50, i put 50/51

anyone remember these two questions???/

jpps1 , u r rightthis was the last question right? anyway I’ve got 70^2 too. I also remember some answers for the first section something like
6$/square/

Lakshya M: my topic was: ‘Do u think that people should put more efforts in order to protect their privacy’ - sth like that…btw I’m not quite sure, but isn’t it south Africa on the same degree of latitude as Bulgaria ?! There’s a little probability that we might have taken the test simultaneously

to fattermit: Nope i don’t remember those questions
but the answer to the first question should be y^2.

just to check, martin did u get the questions that fattermit got in his math sections?

alright, one question, im not gonna talk about the writing essay, but I was gonna ask if you get marked down if you don’t use like specific examples and kinda go into generalities, for example (NOT FROM THE ESSAY, THIS IS JUST A GENERAL EXAMPLE), if i talked about rap music in my essay and how it affects people, if i didn’t name any specific time that this happened or didnt’ use any specific names, would that severly bring my score down?

woow, no dont remember them. He must have gotten different version

funkmasta, I really think that if u have written it well, fluently and persuasively you’ll achive high score.

no…you must have examples. period.
i wrote a whole essay w/ generalities and fake scenarios last time and got an 8. my friend, who just used 3 lame historical examples got a 12.
