[/ul]Other Factors: I’m in a looot of extra curriculars. I thought if any school would reject me it’d of been Penn State, oddly enough I was accepted to UP and… I got deferred from NCSU! Which is supposedly easier to get in. General Comments: Really? Don’t assume you won’t get in, if you want UP, go for it. PSU is a great school. I didn’t think I’d get in with that low SAT score, but miracles do happen. And my extra curricular list is… quite long. Its possible, even with low SAT scores. I think thats what I’m trying to say. Everyone always had really high scores and I always got nervous.

General Comments: I’ve always wanted to attend Penn State - University Park more than anything. Seeing all the other posts made me almost sure that I wouldn’t get in. I’ve read about people with amazing stats denied even for summer session so I was worried. I never took any honors or AP classes. My GPA isn’t amazing, and my SAT score is kind of low. All I could do was hope and stay positive. I submitted my application Nov. 21, and PSU got my SAT scores the day after the deadline. Exactly three weeks after submitting my application, I received my letter of acceptance. I can’t believe it, especially since some people submitted their apps much earlier and are still waiting. Since the letter came so quick, I was expecting to find out that I was denied at U-Park but accepted into my second choice. I was wrong. I’m just shocked and so thankful! : )

“what kind of high school is that where you have a 4.6 and a 1520 sats?”

I agree I have a 3.02 with a 1680/2400 and a 1200/1600 and I am not in the top half 152/295 that is so stupid I wish I went to that high school.

^ Agreed, sometimes test scores are not exactly representative. It’s a bit rude to criticize someone else’s GPA/Test Scores/High School. Like really?

I wasn’t criticizing anyone? I was just saying I wish my high school was like that so I could of had better grades and had a better class rank, I hope they realize that I have already had kids get accepted into Harvard, Lehigh, Penn State, and Rutgers because I came from such a competitive school.
