General Comments: Very excited thought i wasnt getting in because of very low SAT scores but… i did

Oh my god, the wait is killing me. I applied September first with a 3.7 and 1900 and still haven’t heard. It really sucks when I see people on here getting accepted with scores very similar, even sometimes worse than mine.

Undecided and average scores (not too low, not too high) means your probably on the fence and if you applied to specific schools within the university you will here one way or the other faster than others.

Thanks, Soccer. I think D is going to be in the same boat. Another one of my kids went to a satellite campus and then transferred to State College.

If you look at the stats, the majority of State College grads didn’t start there as freshmen. It wasn’t a problem or a stigma at all for the kid who just graduated from State College (with honors, by the way-and went to grad school), since so many other students were in the same boat.

Soccer102592, definitely took some balls and I really appreciate it. It really is a service to everyone on here. Not everyone has the courage to put themselves out there like that.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw that I had an email from PSU admissions in my mailbox today.

"Thank you for your application to Penn State. Because you successfully met the recommended filing date of November 30, your application is among the first group being evaluated for admission to Penn State. (yeah, I applied Sept. 1st.)
Our office will be closed from December 24, 2009 through January 3, 2010. Upon reopening on January 4, we will continue the evaluation of applications.
After January 4, we invite you to check the status of your application online through your MyPennState account. You can log in to MyPennState at our Web site: admissions.psu.edu.
Through MyPennState you can access the online status check; you will know when a decision has been made; you will see the decision online; and, once a decision is made, you will be able to respond to the decision online. Please note that we are unable to give admission decisions over the phone.
The first two weeks of January will be an extremely busy time as we continue to evaluate applications. We appreciate your patience. Our highest priority at that time will be the review of your application to ensure that you receive a final decision by January 31.
We wish you all the best in the coming New Year.
Sincerely,

Anne L. Rohrbach
Executive Director for Undergraduate Admissions"
