pk is smart…and working on RD apps and/or Princeton additional materials…
unlike me =/
which I’ll start in like 5 minutes after I finish reading all the other Princeton threads…

I’m not trying to discriminate or make anybody feel bad, but of my 5 favorites of the ED family (JTC, btlsgirl, kraor, pk, and omz), 3 of you have already made it!!! Those odds look really good for you omz!

I am so proud of ALL of you and I hope that you stick around and visit the Princeton forum when you are basking in the glow of your lovely acceptances. For everyone who was deferred, I know I’m not really “one of you” but I am so proud of ya’ll too. Everyone who applied had something individually amazing about them and I hope that nobody forgets that.

pk - try again. If you want help with any supplement materials, essays, etc. for Princeton, PM me and I will try to help.

Alumom.

Haha jon you are on my top 10!!!
That’s so awful that I have a top 10…
But no seriously, you are on it, and I am anxiously awaiting your decision as well…I seriously like ran home on Friday to get on here and figure out what had been happening…I am sooo lame.

Sorry…deleted my post…and I was kidding…don’t worry. You’re an RDer who feels like part of the ED family. Thanks for having me on your top 10!

EDIT: Yeah, I’m saying this because I did the UPS tracking thingy that everyone’s been talking about. After some careful “spy-work” and some confirming sources, I am definitely NOT receiving any packages from Princeton via UPS. So if by some magical miracle of a chance my reference number does not happen to be 650 or 651 (as so many Canadians have) or they magically forgot to courier my package to me (which I doubt), it’s safe to say I didn’t get accepted. Deferred or Rejected, I’ll know tomorrow.

Hey
I just got my acceptance letter for ED!!!
Im Tanzanian and have 43 predicted (IB)…got 2250 on SAT
lukin forward 2 meeting u guys!!

RB Trix, I doubt it’s solely because your SAT scores were crappy.

Then please give me some input on how to improve my application. I don’t normally sound this much of a jackass, I’m just severely disappointed and in some cases bitter. I’m normally a pleasant person (I hope). Anyway, any comments on improvement would be helpful because obviously this wasn’t good enough to get me in.

I understand there’s the chance that you know, I was unlucky. But there are many other international candidates with similar stats or stuff like that and it just doesn’t come across that this decision is an unlucky break for me. There’s probably a weakness, and I think it’s in my SAT CR score.

Last year, an Asian international applicant got into Princeton ED with the following SAT scores:

660 V
800 M
680 W

I would say that’s a lot worse than RBTrix. Let’s just say that applying to a top school is like doing a lottery.

Hmm… also my regular school percentage averages around 94%. It’s that low because IB is that hard… and unlike other IB schools out there, my IB school doesn’t give a **** about my provincial percentages, so they don’t bother scaling appropriately.

Thus, a low percentage average probably hurt me quite a bit too. I know this may be incredulous to many people out there, you must consider my situation:

1) I’m international, unlike the majority of you guys
2) I’m Canadian, unlike the majority of the international people here
3) I’m Chinese, unfortunately like the majority of you guys
4) I require financial aid
5) I have absolutely no legacy hook thing

People like me get it a lot harder because our situations are just that much more unfortunate. I suppose only the other international students could really relate, but I’d appreciate comments from any American students as well.
