Official PSAT Score Thread

yes I did, I can’t say I’m too happy.

214 (67 CR, 80 M, 67 W)

cutoff for Illinois last year 216.

so close. if only I said “to evoke a state of mind”!!

greygoo–which test did you take W or S

I took saturday.

hey alex did your school pass them out or did you go in and ask?

I had to go in and ask. But later that day, they started giving individual students slips to go down to the guidance office.

i took it wed

greygoo your math score doesn’t make sense because if you lost five points then in the table for the curves you would have a 67

did anyone notice how it said the top 55,000 scorers. Is it always like that or was it 50,000 before? Also, have less people taken the PSAT this year. It only says about 1,032,000 people have taken it. Isn’t it usually 1,300,000???

cjsb0160, that’s only for the saturday curve. The wednesday curve had 5 pts off = 68

i dont think that all of the junior scores are inlcluded in that total (1,032,00) I remember reading one similar to that from a previous year where there were only 500 thousandsome students in the sample. I agree that the 55,000 is increase which hopefully in turn imply an increase in the # of seminfinalists

yea but he said he took it saturday

ok i get it now

does collegeboard mail the scores?

i think so…who else would?

I want my scores now…Well, I just want to have them so I can stop worrying, not because I actually expect a good score :stuck_out_tongue: I doubt I even broke the 200 mark… Congrats to everyone that’s gotten their scores and done well (which is everyone that’s gotten their scores :-P)

I saw one of the men-in-brown today delivering boxes… I’m pretty sure they were the scores.

CRAP! That was a harsh CR curve, according to that link…Instead of a 62 (from the practice test one) it’s a 58! Yikes!

So now instead of a 212, I’m slated for a 207, which also according to the pdf link, is a 98%tile. :frowning: Will that even get me commended in CA (last year: 216 cutoff)???

By the way:
CR -11
M -1
W -5
I used the CB site that had the answers…(programmed answers into calculator to check)…I pray that my score is higher than that.

you will be commended, but if you figured out your score correctly, i doubt very much that you will be a semifinalist

Okay, I’m safe at least…I promised my mother I would get at least to commended.

What is the cutoff (if there is one) or percentile that you need for commended anyway?

Harsh curve for an easy test.

sigh I made dumb mistakes on that test.

200 or 201 selection index
