@BerrySmoothie1 I would just get the Blue Book SAT Book and do those practice tests. I would also just print out past PSATs you can find off the internet and do those. I used this method to improve my score from 162 Sophomore year without any prep to 220 Junior Year with prep.

You got:
70 CR
80 M
78 W

Has anyone in NJ gotten their scores yet?

Can anyone tell me what the chances of NMSF are in Ohio with a 211, it was a 213 last year.
Thanks!

The best guess is probably seeing what score is the 99th percentile for your state…? It’s impossible to know what the cutoff will be

@XCjunior2016 Do you know where I can find that? Thanks! Also, it has been 211 before so I am hoping!

Anyone else have an opinion?

Did you log into the college board site with your access code? I believe it says on there somewhere

Oh ok, that makes sense, but doesn’t that just give the percentiles for the nation?

It gives both on the website, let me see where I found it

My college quick start >>> My online PSAT/NMSQT

It says your state percentile under your national percentile for each category. You can estimate the combined based on that

ok so i just did the hack method and i got 0 wrong in math, two wrong in reading and 5 wrong in writing. i think that gives me a 2210? Is that enough for nj?

It might be, @sonpat, but in 2 of the past 7 years it wasn’t enough according to http://hubpages.com/hub/National-Merit . Really depends on the 2015 cutoff which they won’t release until next Fall. My son is likely to be in the same position in Maryland; it’s gonna be a long 9 months.

Commended cut comes out in April, which at least gives you a feel for the potential trends in general. Last year when it dropped from 203 to 201, there was a lot of happy dancing across the country by those on the bubble.

Thanks for the help. So my best bet would be to just study for the SAT, when working towards the PSAT? I’ll be taking it the same school year anyway.

I did the hack method:
1 wrong in writing
3 wrong in critical reading
0 wrong in math
is this 230?..omg I hope I didn’t miscount I don’t need this false hope

Can some estimate:
Reading -3
Writing -2
Math -0

Thanks

If only I lived in North Dakota. 201 cutoff last year, man.

If you’re asking for your score based on the curve please remember to put the test form you took (wed vs sat)

I took it on wednesday…is the curve easier or harder then?
