^Yeah. And it’s much easier to be accepted than is the Match round.

People have been receiving early admits for QB schools? Hope that’s as rare as likely letters. =/

Actually, it IS a “likely” letter, but the likelihood is 100%, based on the way my son’s two letters were written. Both were LACs. It could just be an Ivy League thing where they hint and wink instead of tell you outright that you’ve been accepted.

My Williams financial aid was fantastic. It’s cheaper than going in-state for me even without board!

Overall, it’ll be $4k (including board) this year, and they’ll cover my textbooks (plus, I get to keep them!)

QuestBridge and its partner schools are wonderful!

Not sure if this is the place to ask but if I apply to Questbridge next year and I’m not accepted as a finalist, would I be too late or not allowed to apply early to Brown through standard means if I had everything submitted by Brown’s Nov. 1st ED deadline?

Steyang, finalist decisions come out in the second half of October, so you can still apply to a college of your choice ED if you don’t make finalist. However, if you CAN qualify for Questbridge, then how can you also apply ED, thus making a commitment before you see their financial aid package?

Thank you for the info!
As far as I understand it, my family income & assets fall under the part of Brown’s financial aid policy that says that my family is not expected to make any contribution. So I believe that means that, if I’m lucky enough to get accepted, I’d get full financial aid. (That’s part of the reason why I’m so set on Brown haha)

Got into Wesleyan early notification, thanks QB! Still considering UCLA and upcoming colleges, but so far things look great.

I’ve only gotten one partner school’s acceptance RD so far, and I didn’t get any aid. (UChicago). I have a weird financial situation though involving assets… and I hope if I get into Rice and/or Yale they’re more generous! :)

Question . i want to do the college match for this coming august. but i also want to apply to George Washington ED.

can i do both or do i have to pick one ?

You have to choose one or the other. You may not apply ED or EA when applying through QB.

I was a Questbridge finalist, even though I wasn’t matched ( which might have been due to my application being accidentaly put in the regular admission pool ) I still got into my first choice, EMORY, for ED2…

I later found out that I wasnt considered for early decision 1 , which might explain why i didnt get matched , because I hadn’t submitted an ED agreement specific to Emory… Luckily i found this out in time for ED2… but i would advise any finalists next year to send their ED agreement directly to their school…

Hi QB Applicants, I will be a senior next year and I have a lot of questions about QB!
My first question is:
if I apply for College Match to MIT and Stanford and get rejected, can I still apply to MIT and Stanford through their RD round?

-edit- wrong thread.

My family makes $120,000 a year, but I am in a situation where I have few opportunities because of living in a rural area. Is it impossible/unlikely that I would receive the award because of my family’s income?

QB is a wonderful program with many opportunities - and a great way to implement your applications. - it gives you a good start and if you qualify - the ‘perks’ are helpful in saving application $$. However, JMHO (don’t jump down on me) - if you are not a minority, from an ‘out of the way’ underprivileged community, without a very special life story, not ‘first generation’ college, and your income is above 50M - you may get to the finals, but you will NOT get the QB Match. However, that being said, if you get to be QB finalist, it is a BIG help & plus with your college applications & acceptances. Don’t be lazy - Go for it! You have NOTHING to lose!
(My GS is now in his 2nd yr. @HARVARD - he was a QB Finalist, but did NOT get Match - he was accepted (regular admission) to all the ‘ivies’ & little ‘Ivies’ he applied to (except M.I.T) & all the QB schools applied to, with full scholarship. It WAS a harrowing application year - but worth it all in the end…

@ Bubbe, thanks
That was a very helpful response.

Im confused about a couple facts regarding how Questbridge works

I intend on applying to Northwestern University, however I’ve already sent in my paperwork to some early action and rolling admissions to other schools. Does this mean that I am ineligible for NCM?

Could I still apply and potentially be a finalist? And do you have to do NCM in order to do RD?

If you want to do the Match, you will need to withdraw your EA apps. Rolling ones are okay however. You don’t have to do the Match, you can opt out and only do RD. If you haven’t yet started the application you should do so ASAP.
