Official SAT I Answer Thread - 12/4 - U.S. Version

ahhhhh… well i’ll have to live with a 770

this may be getting annoying, but have you come to a consensus on as to what the curve will be? i checked up on your posts, i missed 3 math, not four, and 1-2 analogies (can’t remember which were verbal and which were not), and 2-3-4 SC. Critical reading is up in the air, last time i missed seven, so let’s suppose six or five.

Hmmm… I would guess it would be similar to
Math: 800, 800, 780, 760, 740, 720, 700, 700…
Verbal: 800, 800, 800, 780, 780, 760, 740, 720, 700, 700…

Or like the 1995 curve in 10 Reals or the 2000 curve in 10 Reals

Lol none of these are similar… but you have 3 to pick from.

what do you usually get on your practice tests? they’re usually pretty consistent esp if you did 10 REALS

so you’re saying like…760, 700??

Hmmm… I’ve never been consistent with 10 Reals

I have like 100 point gaps everywhere lol
Gains and Drops

Maybe its cuz I try different strategies each time I take it out of there :-

Well I’m consistent with the real test in a real test center, I keep increasing. Good enough for me

Sure 760/740 and 700/680

that would be orgasmic. I’m still probably taking it again in January, just to see if I can hit 1500+. I’m going to apply to Cornell and all, I’m hoping I did well enough on this SAT to feel secure about just taking the next for fun. NYU likes the scores,I’m guessing, too. BU, I hope a shoe in :|. Where are you applying michael?

Well I’m a sophomore right now… trying to apply to a math/science high school and I need about a 1250+ to feel safe, maybe 1300+ because my area is competitive.

I’m confident of getting at least 1370 this time and possibly up to 1480, but that’s a big range.

For college, I’ll probably apply to Duke (any other schools similar to DUKE  ), Stanford, Chapel Hill, John Hopkins, and Brown. I’ll have time to improve in a year or so for that new SAT.

yeh, i’m confident i hit the 1350+ range…just not sure how much higher.i got a 1270 when i took it as a sophomore. just got my PSAT results, 92nd percentile…missed the whole national merit thing by three percentile. made my day  (heh)

I heard the curve is really harsh this year… like Math goes from 800 straight to 760 :-

This was the year I knew what the PSAT was and did good sigh
Well next year is when it counts.

im a senior, gah, i cant deal with another harsh curve

for the E>D>f>C whatever hte answer was
was teh answer choice E???

the last one i took june ahh
curve was 1 wrong on Math 780
verbal was generous though missed liek 5 and got a750

wow… i didn’t even care about the sat until a few months ago… >_>

i think it was e>d>c>f…i know F was at the end, and E was at the beginning. I can’t remember which choice it was…but i think it was E, I remember seeing the question

yes it was E

im hoping i put that…i know i had the e, f, at beginning and end, but im not sure what i put for the center…and also, im hoping the curve for sat math goes 800, 800, cuz i then have a chance at an 800…

i dont remember the curve from the last time i took this test

Yeah, me too!

It’s interesting, I had 3 math sections and 4 verbal sections and I don’t at ALL remember some of these “experimental” analogies/SC/bunny rabbits. Is there always only ONE experimental math and ONE experimental verbal?

And to anybody who’s not a junior and looking at competitive tech schools… DO RESEARCH. RIGHT NOW. Call up a professor from your town/a science-technology company and see what you can find. Look at Westinghouse and RSI and Siemens RIGHT NOW. Plan on trying for it; plan on doing research. Research is one of the main things you need to be super-competitive.

I wish someone had told me that.
