Official SAT Subject Test - Math Level 2 - June 2015

@Kyuutoryuu Agreed. I wish SAT would go ahead and ban it. I think AP and ACT already have, and for good reason.

It was surprising to me that some of the questions were so similar to those on the official practice tests. When I saw the question on the official practice test about complex numbers and a+bi mumbo jumbo, I had no idea how to do it. I still don’t understand the concept, but I merely learned how to do that specific problem, and there was one just like it on the actual test so I got it right. That wasn’t the only question like that either. I got a 770.

@Hermit9 AP hasn’t (as they are made by Collegeboard, like SAT), but yeah, ACT knows what’s up.

Congrats for all the awesome scores on this thread, you all! I didn’t do nearly as well as I would have liked, so I will be retaking in October. For all you who scored 780+, how did you prep? Any specific books/sites/videos/etc. that I should look into? Thanks

@asappebble I got an 800 and I can Barron is enough and if time is your problem, go over Chung’s. I had Chung’s and my mom said I should go over it, but I was too lazy to. Chung’s might help you though since the test might be harder for you since you are taking in October.

@asappebble

I got an 800 using Chung’s and Barron’s. Barron’s should be enough for the people good at math, but not me. I did around half the tests in Chung’s as well. Walked out of the test thinking I got only 1 question wrong. Ended up getting an 800, but I’m not sure what my raw score was.

@gettingdat2400 - did you take the SAT 1? If so, what did you get on CR? Do you think CR is similar to the Lit Subject Test?

@asappebble I just winged it. If you enjoy math and have taken everything through precalculus and understand basic concepts for calculus and prob/stat, you can get an 800.

@ypmagic @bobthebuilder123 @hermit9 okay awesome!! thank you all so much

Hey I got 800 and I just did dr. Chung’s. I also took the test after one term of calc, idk if that had anything to do with the score but I think it helped

@asappebble I got an 800 after doing just 6 of Dr. Chung’s 12 practice tests. They’re really helpful, but look over the tips too if you feel like you need to.

Is 700 good enough for a business major applying to like Bentley ot Babson. Please respond!!!

  1. That's annoying. But I don't intend on being a math major (or anything math related, for that matter). So I won't retake it. Pretty sure that's good enough for top Ivies anyway, right?

^I’m not sure if there was sarcasm intended, but that was my favorite post of the year!

@CHD2013 No the SAT Lit is soo much harder than the CR of the SAT because its not just regular reading comprehension…mostly poetry and drama from different countries and centuries…i thought it was even harder than the AP…i suggest only taking the SAT Lit if you have a 750+ on the regular CR

@rabblerowser: You don’t know how annoying it is to get a 790 until you’ve gotten it. It is undoubtedly a great score, but so close to perfect.

@elmstreetking I don’t think there is anything wrong with a 700 for Bentley/Babson. It wont make you stand out, but i dont think it is a negative.

I got an 800 and I practiced with Dr. Chung’s book. His book really helped me answer questions faster, as I usually had to skip around to determine the questions worth solving, and rarely completed a test in the time allotted. After each practice, I took the time to figure out every single question I got wrong. If you can consistently get 700+ on Chung’s, you should be fine for the real thing.

I got an 800 through studying with Barrons. I took about 3 practice tests spread out the week before the test. During the actual test, I omitted two and missed at least another two. I highly recommend Barrons as it really does over prepare you. I got a 590 as a diagnostic before reviewing the content and then 750 and 730 respectively on the practice tests. You can buy an old edition of the Barrons book for pretty cheap, or you can find an ebook if you know how to google it.

I got 800 by using Barrons, Princeton, and Chung’s. I reviewed the three books and wrote notes for them and studied for about two weeks before the tests started but, after the first week of studying, I just read over my notes once a day. On the actual test, I left one blank and I know I missed at least 3 but still ended up making the 800 curve. It’s a really nice test to take to get an 800. Just remember to put all the formulas you think you need into your calculator and label them clearly so that you can quickly go to the one you need during the test.
