OFFICIAL SAT1 Thread

Anyone remember which sections the questions about the addition problem with missing numbers P and K and you had to find out which was bigger? Also the one asking if the prime factor of 225 is greater than 20? Were they in section 4?

sigh my hope for 700math is gone…3mc wrong, bout 5qc? and 4omit what can i get?

yes section four

for the QC where it asked for the greatest prime factor of 225 or 20. I put 20 because 225 factored into primes = 335*5.

That’s still a possible 700, isn’t it? That’s about 60-7=53. That’s about 700 range.

Anyone on the natural forms or abstract ideas one on the jewelry???

I’m not sure, cuz the first time i took it in may, i omitted 11 foolishly, and got 7 wrong and ended up with a 600 instead.

I heard this curve is going to be harsh. Does anybody think it will be harsh. What’s the general consensus on the difficulty of the verbal and math.

newcool:
It would be 5 then, wouldn’t it?

I beleive it will be harsher than usual. Just my gut feeling from the SAT’s I’ve practiced on.

Knavish, I was torn between the two choices for that question. One choice was, as you stated, because that’s what scientists did on cloudy days. The other was that it demonstrated the limitations of contemporary instruments.

Anyone else have a thought?

well from the 10 Real back in 1995/6 it wasn’t so harsh

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. I agree it’s 20…

And P was greater than K.

And, and… What about that astronomer question about them giving up?

Hmm… I think you’re right sanguine… It was contrasting the two instruments, so it would be right to say the first choice emphasized the limitations… Oh well, got that wrong.

=O , do you guys mean harsh as in this month’s test was meant to be easy?

Brandon which version of the test did you take? The one with 2 QCs? I found this one not as harsh. The first Sat I took was in June this year, and that one seemed much harder. In this one I had about 5-15 minutes left over each math section and like 5-10 mins each verbal. I dunno…

I can’t remember if I took the one with the 2 QCs. I do remember answering the verbal section with 2-3 short passages (chimps, traveling man, etc.).

eva: for the march SAT I omitted 4 and got 6 wrong => 670

it seems like nobody can answer this:

were these passages in the same section?

chimps
latinos
smooth man (travel)
jewelry

hey ppl…shouldnt the curve be easier if they had like experimental sections on IT!
at least for verbal!

what exactly was the P and K value question?

btboxpunk:

I had the su sung clock vs. public clocks question too, and I think I put down the answer that said the su sung clock modeled the universe or nature unlike the public one. I know for sure it couldn’t have been cost or the escape mechanism.
