tennis, I’m pretty sure you can score at least a 740 on verbal with that. But that is according to the curves from the 10 Reals. I’m not sure how strict the curve will be this month though. I also got all of those answers for the Koren passage except the one on how she viewed her halibiou. I put something else thinking it meant respect. But esteem means respect so you got it right.

how do you think the curve for the math will be? example

Cool. I am so happy all this SAT nonsense is behind me.

Indeed, it is nonsense. I still have to do one more round of SAT2s though.

Hmm, I was just thinking… Although this test was slightly easier, do you think the curve might not be as harsh as we think? Maybe since it’s November and most Early Decision/Action applications dates have passed, then less seniors took it this month. Maybe the seniors who took it are lazier and don’t really care as much about this month’s score because they basically have their scores already. Also, maybe a lot more juniors took it too. Maybe this curve will be easier. What do you think?

i say thats a positive way to think about it haha…good possibility too lets all cross our fingers

For the one with the car (50% were red, 60% had four doors, and 70% had alloy rims) What did you all get? I got 28. Since the probability of not choosing a red car and not having four doors and having alloy wheels is (.5.4.7 = .14) therfore the number of cars = .14*200 = 28.

Logically the answer seemed 80 and that’s what I put earlier but then I couldn’t draw the venn diagrams to justify them

i dont think juniors took sats this weekend, and think the “over acheiver” seniors took it again to try to get higher, but then again seniors who take it again probably scored lower last time, and probably scored lower again (i hope).

omg People…u guys are so stupid
u have no idea how the SCALE for SATs is set…
it is set BEFORE HAND…PRE-SET
and will not change barring extraordinary circumstances…

I think we can all agree the math was easier than usual.

How about the verbal. What did everybody think?

btboxpunk - Umm, actually no. The final score is derived from a raw score; the precise conversion chart varies from year to year due to minor variations in test difficulty. The difference in corresponding percentiles reflects the number of students who take test. Generally speaking, the more popular test, the higher the percentile corresponding to a scaled score of 800. Comparing scales from previous tests can and will yield an appropriate scale for this test. They can’t determine the scale before the test. They determine a scale using the scores acheived from that particular test, but they don’t get the scores until AFTER the test is taken. Perhaps you should do your research before you accuse us for being “stupid.”

dude seriously
my tutor told me thats how they did it…
whered ya read all about that?

From the 10 Real SATs

Plus, we know we can’t figure out precisely what the score will be. We are merely making estimates based on previous scales.

damn i should have done the book before the test

What the heck!? Now that I think about how she viewed her grandma, I’m really confused. I don’t think I put esteem… I put another positive choice. Was it respect? Don’t respect and esteem pretty much mean the same thing? Ugh, I pretty damn confused now… Perhaps I put esteem… whatever!!

It was ‘reserve’, esteem was the better, and right choice.

car question was 80

what you had to do was figure out how many possible cars there can be that satisfy each desired trait (green, 2 door, alloy)

and pick the smallest number

For the “HALMONI” Question, i thought the answer was CONCERN because the writer didn’t seem to really show respect or ESTEEM for her grandma. I thought she was more intrigued by her grandmother’s personal history and amazed by it.

That is true, but concern implies a sense of anxiety or worry for her grandma. But concern still works if you take that aspect of it away. But I think the speaker might have used some words to describe her grandma that implied that she respected her for her courage for saving people or something like that.
