OFFICIAL Saturday, October 15 PSAT Thread

“…, which is a compound used in fertilizers.” Something like that?

There was one about fertilizers and another about “imports and exports”. I can’t remember what the answer choices were, sorry.

heyy, im new, so bare with me here

(nice to meet some cool smart people, wayy differnt from school)

I was wondering what you guys thought of the Math this year compared to last year?

Yes, I think it was something like that foolonthehill161.

PRiSM92289:

Easier, but that might be because I actually practiced this year.

I think the math was harder. But still doable.

the answer i put for the last quesiton was somethign like this “Togo is one of the main producers of phosphate, a compound used in fertilizers.”

^That seems right, yes.

Oh yes yes that was the one I was talking about. Thanks for the refresher.

does anyone remember the other answer choices to the tree jumping out question. i think i put the answer that thisyearsgirl put, but im not sure.

Yeah. Those 5 or 6 questions at the end of the W section are always crazily easy.

I think one other choice was like, an incredulous something… But the humorous one was the right answer (I believe).

And they were all revising single sentences! In last year’s practice exam there was a question like “which of the following ideas would most logically be placed after the last sentence of the last paragraph.” It was weird.

What was the passage which had the question about the “tree jumping out”?

Yeahh, you’re right! I was anticipating one of those annoying questions at the end of the W, and when it was another correcting a sentence question, I was like, yes!
Maybe the writing section curve will be lower than usual…

It was the memory passage.

what was the words that went after “incredulous” and “humorous”?

i think it was humorous illustration but i dont remember the incredulous one. now that i think of it, im not so sure about wat i had put =[

Does it matter? Incredulous means disbelieving or skeptical, humorous means funny… And it was clearly funny because trees and signs can’t move. I mean, obviously no one would believe that trees or signs can move… but I think the purpose was to be funny…

it does matter. b/c the tree jumping out thing is both disbelieving and humourous. so in order to choose the right answer, ull need to know teh second word, which i think explains the author’s intent

Yeah but why do you think the author included that in the passage? I’m sure everyone would agree to be funny.
Which did you choose, inredculous or humorous?
