yes, original is correct. and copious/sagacious is also correct for the author one

Which sentence had impugn and nerfarious?

8 in Section 1.

Something like, The ethics commitee voted to ------- the b!tch because he was so damn -------.

^ yeah, that’s it

im referring back to the writing question with the sumerian people and african settlements. are u sure it’s not E? everything else didnt make sense… dammit. what would 3 wrong in writing be? do i still have a shot at 800? and what about math with 1 skip and 1 wrong? ugh i hope the curve is better because this year’s math and writing were much harder than last year.

Sumerian people and African settlements?
You mean the one about the Anasazi tribe that was forced to flee because of increased temperatures?
It might be E… Both B and E made sense to me, but I chose B because E was in the passive voice, and I think it’s usually better to avoid that.

1 wrong and 1 omitted on Math would probably be around 74. 3 wrong on Writing would probably be around 76.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

What do you guys think the curve will be for CR? Better or worse than last year? The curve for CR on the PSAT bulletin practice test was really generous.

For the discarded memories one, wouldn’t the answer be that the author of passage 2 would forget about Passage 1’s message? I mean, in passage 2 they talked about how if something is part of your life for a long time or during an emotional period, you will remember it. I dont think that the answer would be the dog because they said the FAMILY dog, not the brother’s dog, and those memories would stay with the author for a long time. Of course, I know im probably wrong, as everyone else seems to think otherwise.

It was the family’s dog, the brother was just in charge of it.

o dam… i hoped math would be higher than a 740… dont u think they will be more generous this year cause it was harder? maybe like 760 for math? ugh…and for writing. cant 3 wrong be like 780 at least? LOL ah…im worried… and cr…hmm dam ill be happy with a 650 or something… wow does anyone know what score is needed to be at least semi in NY? what about Commended?

Commended is like 201, semi for NY is like 218, Im in New York too, and I think I may get the semi or I may not, too hard to tell.

I think it was 218 to be semifinalist in NY and above 200 to be commended (I THINK!)

I’m praying for a generous CR curve. =/

Does anyone remember the (x-a)^5 = (x-a)k^4 question?

It asked you to find x in terms of a and k. I think it was k+a

Yeah, same with me… I think I’ll borderline the semi-finalist cutoff (I’m from NY too). With my luck, I’ll miss it by a few… I have a bad feeling about CR. But with everyone saying it was difficult, maybe there will be some generous curvature going on…?

Lol. My dad always tells me to let go of the test scores cuz theres nothing you can do about it once you take it. Just a random thought.

As for the CR curve, I’m hoping that 8 questions wrong is above 700 (probably way too generous).

I don’t think that was the exact problem, because I just solved it and got 5 = k^4… Which would make k some randomass number.

I don’t remember what I put for that answer.

Haha! That would be really generous, but really awesome. I would definitely make semifinalist with that.
I think I got about 4 SCs wrong, and probably about 4 or 5 reading questions wrong. =(

Hmmm

(x-a)^5 = (x-a)k^4

I divided both sides by (x-a) making…

(x-a)^4 = k^4

I took the fourth root of both sides so…

(x-a) = k … plus or minus? I dunno… x ends up to be:

k+a .

Okay, there are the sentence completion answers I remember/read on this board:

“an original”
“copious…sagacious” [Got this one wrong]
“pretext”
“precarious”
“something…abrasive”
“something…deleterious” [Got this one wrong]
“something…nefarious”
“demeaning”
“something…collapse”
“conciliatory…heal” [Got this one wrong]

Anyone remember any others?
