Official September ACT Discussion Thread

how do they establish the curve???

O darn I missed the Franklin question

I swore that I got 300 for the hiking one. I was convinced I had done it right now. I guess I could have remember wrong or done it wrong.

cabin question was ez. it simply tests ur knowledge of triangular numbers… answer is 45… ((9^2)+9)/2=45

“smarty99” I put 45 as the angle

And the false statement was the two line on top that shape this

\ /
/

what was the answer to the ferris wheel?

c was 12-cos a something like that
c or d?

35 math ■■■. I missed the hiking one sigh. Has -1 ever been a 36 on math?

its not 45 because it was 2 times the other angle

so was is 90?

DEfinitely 45.

So far I missed the cosine problem and the licenses…what was the answer to the blue figurine one?

ANd did anyone get 81 percent for that one question about b averages?

Yeah, I really want to know how they establish the curve! I didn’t even know there WAS a curve until I just read this thread! Haha!

It was 45!!! The line bisected two perpendicular lines

Please tell me I’m right or else I wont get a 36 on Math

wait what was the 324 question about?

@smarty: I said that the angle was 120 I think, if it was obtuse. I can’t remember why, but there was some explanation.

I put talked down to. I mean, the rest were just verbs in the past tense. Talked down to is the only one that is different so I put that one. There goes my 36 in English. The science was mad hard. I can usually get it all right, maybe I got 1 wrong on a practice test, but I had to guess on like 3 or 4 on this test. Math, eh, the ferris wheel was hard, I had to guess. But I’m pretty sure I picked the largest one with cos in it. Reading, *** was that first passage about? Better be a 38-40=36 curve on Reading. Maybe they made it harder so that the number of people who get high scores wouldn’t be really high like last year.

It’s not a curve as in a point boost. Curve just means how they convert the score. It’s depending on how people do. Like, if no one got all correct on math, they would probably make it 0/-1 = 36

i got 81% hardwqorker

^ Has that happened before?

For Edison, it was asking for the LEAST ACCEPTABLE. The options were scolded, condescended, talked down to, and one word that had nothing to do with those verbs.

naw i think the answer was “opposed”

the choices were like talked down, belittle, and scolded, which all meant the same thing
