Official Spring 2014 Cornell Transfers Thread

Oh NO! I am so sad for those of you who ave been rejected. Was the rejection by email or did they call you? My palms are sweating and my stomach is sick with worry. I am so sorry guys. Hang in there.

marianna—there are only a handful of transfer admits to A&S. I cannot put my hands on it now, but I think the number is fewer than ten, for all of A&S. Transfer admit rates are higher for the other schools, excluding Eng & AA&P.

The ILR school has been phoning the HS Seniors and chatting with them, inquiring about their plans to apply to ILR, do they have any questions, etc.

Wow, this is heartbreaking. I wish everyone on this forum the best of luck.

Rejected as well ): ilr.
It was through email, linked to the decision. Received it at 10eastern time sharp.
Sigh back to boring school.

Feel bad for saying this now… Accepted into A&S for biological sciences! Hopefully this will give some hope to those of you who have yet to hear

Wow this is brutal. Sorry guys :frowning: But you will all find your place soon. If you definitely believe Cornell is for you, make that aware in your essays etc. and reapply. I got rejected last semester, so there’s definitely hope… If you got accepted elsewhere, that’s great! You are all intelligent people, that’s why you applied to Cornell in the first place, and definitely deserve a great education and you will definitely get one in your next academic steps through Cornell or not. This was a learning experience for everyone on this thread that has taught us how to better ourselves. Best of luck with your future endeavors. The FB page is up, if anyone ever needs application help, wants to talk and let me know what it is you will be doing next, please don’t hesitate.

Well put JPAPAS, well put.

What? I am sorry to hear that guys… But hang in there, up-vote forJPAPAS’ words. You guys are great so far!

emalo…I’m a bit nervous now…

Ccuser66:

I’m nervous as well.

Pat pat emalo.

Fingers crossed for all of us. Best of luck! :)

Nostalgia, dolchedog, Maggie,

I was really rooting for you all. I’m sorry :(. If it makes y’all feel any better - I was rejected after my first semester as a freshman with a 4.0 GPA. So really buckle down, and get high grades and learn about your field - show them you’ve grown and apply again.

I hate to be that guy… but would any of you mind sharing your credentials? Just want to know what I’m up against. Again, sorry :(. It’s tough being rejected.

Still haven’t been notified btw. Chris whats your app status?

Ccuser66:

Thank you! It’s nice knowing there’s someone in the same boat!

Emalo: always :)

Thanks jpapas.
And I wish you two the best emalo and ccuser ! There’s definitely hope since I’m guessing this was just the rejection wave.
And thanks Ahmad, I have a 4.0 -city college -semester system. normal course load +4 extra 3 credit classes in the summer session. Worked as an emt on an ambulance between hs and college/went to disaster zones with rescue teams. +extra curriculars. Tied everything into my essays. I’ll definitely apply again for '14 fall.

Good luck Nostalgia! I’m rooting for you!

OH wow i must have been really stressed last night. ignore the grammatical errors and horrible sentence structure hahah

To everyone that was rejected, i am really sorry. My best advice would be to keep applying, no matter what. I am applying for the fall term and i have a feeling that i will be rejected as well, but that does not stop me from applying. My stats are not up to par but they’re getting better :)

Here’s the update after today. So sad to know that we won’t all be together next semester, but really listen to JPAPAS advice and keep pushing on. Don’t let a Cornell rejection letter define you - I’ve read your stats and you all seem intelligent, involved, and highly capable. Best of luck to all of you!
And JPAPAS- I’ll probably join the Facebook group later; I haven’t told people here that I’m transferring yet.
