Official Spring 2014 Cornell Transfers Thread

I would say that they will look at your application as a whole, an especially look at the grades in courses that they consider required and suggested. Maybe many bad grades (<C) in core curriculum courses would result in an unfavorable decision, but it sounds like that’s not the case with you, and your major GPA is great! And your cumulative GPA is competitive.

Thank you JPAPAS! I have only gotten two stupid C’s, but in my but in the required courses i have mostly A’s and B’s. I will have taken most of the required courses for CHE and i’m pretty sure my midterm GPA for next semester will be high.

That’s great. Make sure you have all of the required courses completed, especially if you will apply as a junior. Good luck!

Thank you JPAPAS! I will keep you updated with everything. I am honestly less stressed out haha

Hey guys will you be issued PIN and hear decision only when you are accepted? And only an email notification if rejected? Just wondering. :)

Lol good, I can’t imagine being stressed out until May 2014

I’ve already started on the essay questions, as well. I just want to get this out of the way so i can breathe haha.

Not sure what you’re asking MaggieV. To get your decision online, you will receive an email with a link where you can see if you were accepted or rejected. If you’re asking about the NetID, I believe you get one after you respond to the acceptance and pay the deposit. Sorry if that doesn’t help.

Hey guys! Sorry I am so late for this but I thought it’s better to post than not at all! I am applying to transfer into ILR from a southern school for the Spring. I visited recently and it was so pretty especially with all the leaves changing colors. Whoever said they lurked the school on Google maps did the same exact thing as me and I thought I was the only one who would do that lol

Good luck to everyone :)

Thanks JPAPAS that definitely helped!!

academics schmacademics Ahmad. Your 3.7 IS competitive, and as a whole your application looks a lot more interesting than the 4.0 with no social life/extra curriculars.
