*Official* Stanford REA 2015 Applicants' Discussion Thread

Eh… I felt Stanford’s supplemental questions didn’t give me enough freedom to write in the way that best conveyed my personality. I really didn’t enjoy their questions, to be honest…

@ Courtney: Yeah, I guess it also depends on the kind of questions asked. MIT also had a fairly long supplement, but I HATED one of their essay questions because I simply didn’t know how to answer it. So it totally depends on the individual and said individual’s life experiences.

HEHEHEHEHHEHEHE

People applying to UC system will know what I’m talking about.

@Courtney - I feel the same way. I wasn’t too confident with what I wrote for the Intellectual Vitality essay, and the roommate one was kind of meh…I liked the prompts for the Common App because they allowed me to write about what I wanted to write about, if that makes any sense. I added you on FB too, btw, but I hardly ever get on these days.

@ Mao: NICE! Mine was also exactly 1,000 words lol.

anyone here in psychology right now? I’m trying to type up my experiment report but I keep getting distracted :stuck_out_tongue: haha

did someone say… PHYSICS :D

ooh physics, I have that class too right now. we’re learning about support force, accelerations with pulleys, etc, how about you? :)

I’m in Psych 2!! I don’t think I’ll be able to do ANY work until the 10th… I just keep NOT doing my assignments… Can’t be a good thing…

Ooh psych 2, we don’t have that at my school haha! Just CIS. And I definitely can’t concentrate on this right now. I’m supposed to be writing a whole dissertation on our experiment on age and gender schemas and I’m just… zoning. thank goodness for caffeine :)

The prompts themselves are fine in and of themselves. It’s just the trouble of knowing whether my content is up to par. For myself, I’m fine with everything. It’s just the nagging feeling. Plus now I need to rework the Why Stanford and fine tune the other two supplements plus the main personal statement.

I enjoyed sharing about myself in the intellectual vitality and I believe that it succinctly demonstrates my passion. Also, the roommate essay that I wrote is pretty well done too I believe. Just the Why Stanford. I hate having so many reasons for my love for Stanford because my judgement is clouded as to which to address in the statement… Meh.

BTW guys, you’ll have to forgive me on here if my sentences are verbose in any way. I definitely write very casually here haha.

@soccerfan5

I am in a gap year so I’m not learning anything atm :p

Haha Sleeet, no need to apologize… As Stanford applicant I assume that all of us have no problem understanding you
We’re getting close, guys. Almost 10 days :)

hahahahahaha nice sarba. I get it now :)

Well I have an AP Psych test to study for, and it’s 11:30 now. I don’t think that’s gonna happen…

Almost ten days till decision day? Where does the time go?

…and apparently the Questbridge REA applicants are getting their decisions in TWO days!

^ LOL gotta love that face.

BUT oO SEEMS JUST ABOUT RIGHT. AHHHHH ><

EDIT–I CAN’T SEEM TO PULL OFF THAT EMOTICON. -__-
but you know what I mean :D

I know! I have two Questbridge finalists at my school, and both are close friends. I am so excited for them that my own anxiety is kept at bay! Lucky kids get to find out about ALL their colleges at the same time! Must be nice…

Anyone else hate missing school? I missed today, and 4 days two weeks ago from being sick :frowning: It’s a real pain making up homework. Especially since my Chem teacher isn’t lenient at all. Plus I have the next day or two of possibly being stuck at home again unfortunately. Wahhhh! And WHY did my dad have to force me to hold off on applying to Stanford early?!?! I REALLY wanted to do REA. Mehhh. I live a sad and depressing life.
