<p>Only Ivy on my list is Columbia. Generally Ivy’s are not amazing for science/engineering programs, and Columbia isn’t even too high on my list because I’m applying to Fu Foundation rather than Columbia College.</p>

<p>I think the whole Ivy league thing is pretty silly. It’s based solely on an athletic bracket and I could name a lot of schools tougher to get into than Ivy’s (Olin? Caltech?)</p>

<p>That said, my cousin goes to Harvard and loves it there, and all the ivy’s generally have great educations. But I would honestly much rather go to, say, Northwestern than Harvard or Princeton.</p>

<p>Also, Princeton has a beautiful campus, but it is almost a polar opposite of Stanford. During exam week at Princeton basically the entire school stays in their rooms studying vs. Stanford where you still have a good amount of people hanging out or playing frisbee on the Oval, if only to blow off steam. I have a friend with 3 brothers who all went to/attend Princeton and they said that the dining clubs are very exclusive and sometimes annoying.</p>

<p>By the way, I never introduced myself either. My name’s Brandon and I’m from Maryland. I’m pretty into playing music (improvisation and jazz being the most fun), and… doing plenty of other stuff I won’t talk about now haha. (And I have no particularly strong affinity for Heinz ketchup, so I have no idea what inspired this name when I made the account a couple years ago…)</p>

<p>@ crmichi: Our season ended. I guess in Mass soccer is a fall sport (still blows my mind) because of the snow and such. We won our league and the North championship! Lost against the South… damn them!
Honestly (like, excruciatingly and terribly honestly) my interest in Stanford is very very very very much just a way to fulfill my homesickness. I hella <3 NorCal haha :)</p>

<p>Oh, and I have zero Ivies as well! Thank goodness I’m not alone.</p>
