Haha, I think the question was referring to the spring breaks and summers after we already attend Stanford.

^ To clear confusion, I was totally asking about spring/summer breaks 2011, but I phrased it weirdly. It’s cool, though, thinking about how we’d use future breaks IF we got in.

Oooh gotcha. I actually have this urge to go work on an organic farm somewhere in Spain or Italy for a month during the summer or something…
[WWOOF - World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms](http://www.wwoof.org/)

WWOOF is awesome, itzjessicaa! My older brother went to Argentina 1 1/2 years ago and loved it. I’ve also talked with someone who worked at a vineyard in Italy and really liked it.

For Spring break, I have no idea.
For summer break I’ll probably be working at the lab in my city and hanging out with friends.

For Spring break, just hang out with friends, thinking that this is the last major break before we’re done with high school. Maybe, study a little bit for those AP exams.

I’ll find something to do, probably not study for AP because those will be like a month and a half after.

It should be interesting to see what happens!

Thanks! I just did a bit of thread reading, and it seems like… no one really knows what date they will be released.
I read that you go to an IB school! I am so jealous. The closest IB school is about 200 miles away. My unique education is my only hope. I am almost done with my UC transfer pattern (community college) and I go to a charter school that doesn’t offer AP classes. I cannot decide if this is a blessing or a curse ![]()
I think you will be enormously successful, wherever you go.

Yes, thank goodness we will all know at once!

California is really great. I have lived here my whole life, in a town of 600. I live on a street without sidewalks
I was down in the bay area for regional honor choir last month! We spent some time in the Palo Alto area, and I could not believe I was in the same state. Cars are Mercedes or BMWs. The affluence is just astounding. The area is booming. We didn’t make it to Stanford, but we were about 10 blocks away.

I feel like the state has three distinct flavors. 1) The rural super-north, where I live. 2) 300 miles down, the bay area. San Fran, etc. and 3) the true south, L.A. and the surrounding desert.

I’ll be working in the summer. I work full-time at a local restaurant
I always wanted to go to Summer College… but it’s so expensive! Has anyone been to the Stanford one?

ALSO: I am sorry if I have redundant questions
I will try to read through thread, but I also need to read Macbeth, write a few papers, and perform twice with my orchestra!

^I understand. I joined the thread last week and I missed a lot of the discussion before that.

MAN am I behind on reading the thread!

I’m in favor of all frosh housing. You make so many more friends that way… and FroSoCo is in the middle of nowhere on campus.

Spring break this year I will either go to Georgia with my fam, Stanny (hopefully) for a visit, or DC to see my brother. Or I’ll just stay home and study.
(guess which one I’m hoping for)

This summer is up in the air… I’m trying for an internship in Munich, or I’ll work at one of those Concordia language villages. We’ll see.

Haha oh abitdifferent, you should join the facebook group. PM me your name and I’ll add you ![]()
And as for THIS spring and summer break- I’m hawaii bound over spring break, and my summer plans are still undecided. I want to go on a cross-country road trip with a bunch of my friends :)

My friends and I have wanted to go on a cross-country road trip for so long, but it would have been impossible before this summer. i might do the same as you, Courtney, with some of my friends. Where would you go, Courtney?

Uhmm to visit some of my out-of-state friends, for sure. Florida is a do-able drive, though I’m dying to get up to New York and stay with one of my friends there. Anywhere on the west coast is probably too far away… (California’s a 3 day drive, compared to less than a day to get to Florida)

For THIS spring break: depends on what happens re: decisions. Most likely going to go visit colleges… Hey, isn’t admit weekend around that time?
Also want to go to COACHELLA (music festival in socal :D)

This summer: I’m going on a trip to Costa Rica for 10 days after school ends!! It’s organized through my school and a bunch of my friends are going! After that… I dunno, I want to travel more, spend time with friends, maybe intern/work somewhere… I have NOT thought that far ahead! hahaha

If I were at Stanford, since I live like… 30 miles away… I’d probably come home a lot. Definitely Thanksgiving, Christmas… Spring breaks I’d most likely go places w/ my Stanford friends or friends from home. I’m sure a lot of my friends will be going to UCs so I’ll visit them when I have time/ Summer… yeah, study abroad, travel, internships, etc! I’m excited :D

My family drives to California every few years because we have lots of family there. I agree. It’s a very long drive. Not to put you on the spot, just wondering since we’re talking about vacation plans.

I might also go to Bonnaroo. Have you guys heard of it?

Nope… I just Googled it though! Sounds kind of like Coachella
yay music festivals!

AUGH this week at school is definitely going to be the hardest… :(

especially with the stress and anxiousness of waiting for the decision

totally agree. I have been so lazy and senior-ish, it’s pathetic! THE WAIT IS TORTURE…

Senioritis hits everyone to some degree

@ brownboy: OHMYGOSH PM me. I used to go to your current school!

I’d rather do freshman-only housing… Better to be one of many people de-awkwarding than one of just a few! (Though, tbh, FroSoCo sounds kind of interesting…)

I’m going to have a heart attack if it gets to be the 10th and they haven’t said anything yet. PLEASE DON’T RUIN MY WEEKEND, NEW DEAN PERSON.
