REA 2014 reached 5k posts during March-ish I think…

I feel like that new kid at the back of the room who raises his hand really lightly and asks can I join? Y’all have an amazing thread, I’ve been following it for a while now…furtively.

Brief bio: I live in Singapore (go to the American School here), used to live in Jersey, India, Philippines, and Boston. I’m into graphic design, math (shudder) and banana-flavored jelly beans.

NICE TO MEET YOU :)

Also, it’s currently 1:45 am, Monday morning. I have sleeping issues.

LOL!!! Sarba!!! Swedish House Mafia!!! But I get why you were confused!! LOL! I forgot I was on a thread full of Geeks!! :)

We’ll totally beat their measly 5000 post count. :D

As for housing, I think I’d rather freshman! For no reason other than they are all going through the same motions of acclimatising to Stanford ans stuff! You won’t feel out of the loop as, IMO, you would in the 4 year housing. :)

4 Days

hehehe…

I still have no idea about the housing imma choose… but most probably it will be a 4 year housing, rather than frosh-only :p

Kimathi, I think your countdown is off… I have

5 days

I WOULD CHOOSE THE HOUSING WHERE YOU CC-ERS ARE
hehe. It would be hella awesome if we were in the same dorm!

3325

yeah… I was just about to comment on that…
For a moment I was scared… 4 days… lol

3326

That would definitely be awesome :D

Welcome, brownboy!
And I’d definitely choose freshman housing… I wanna be getting used to things with everyone else, not being the “new kid” in a house full of experienced upperclassmen.

I’m going to jump on what seems to be the bandwagon and say freshmen as well. I know that everyone on campus would be super helpful and friendly, but it seems like I’d be able to relate more with people going through the same transition as me, which would mo def be helpful for the first couple of weeks.

I’d pick 4-year.

5 days ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
(unless the new admissions person does things differently)

I had no idea this thread existed. I have been counting down for… a year? When I tell people I applied to Stanford, I always call it my ‘pipe dream.’

You are all so brilliant and incredibly awesome. I wish you luck!!!

I think I am the only person who applied from my county. I live in the middle of nowhere, CA.

I have a friend who is waiting to see if I get accepted, before he applies. I am his litmus test! lol.

My test scores aren’t that great (1290, 1950) but I did the best I could… People in my area are luck if they graduate from high school

I love writing essays, and I really had a good time writing all the Stanford ones :)

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE 15th! Last year, they came out on the 11th. Does anyone know if that could happen again, this year?

abitdifferent- welcome
I’m pretty sure we’ve answered that question several times in past pages, if you want to read through for a specific answer, but we’re all kind of confused when the decisions will come out with a new dean of admissions this year.

^^You’ll now as soon as we do, abitdifferent.

It sucks that the admissions staff usually updates their admissions news page the day that they are releasing the decisions…so we don’t know:/

all freshman housing ftw! seriously, imagine how much easier it would be to make friends and get to know each other if everyone else is in the same position as you are, rather than being with upperclassmen who already have their circles of friends unless they are weird and antisocial. Not that weird and antisocial is a bad thing to anyone who is. :)

So, assuming we all make it in (because, I mean, which college wouldn’t want us? …jk), how are you all planning on spending spring breaks/summers?

I’m sure spring break will be spent doing crazy shenanigans with new Stanford friends, while summers would probably be spent at home catching up with old high school friends or doing some sort of research or internship.

I’d probably explore California for spring break with some friends. For summer, I’d probably be at home or doing some sort of internship/research/study abroad.

Eh… not sure. My parents will fly me home for most breaks, but I’ll find myself at Stanford during long weekends and short breaks like Thanksgiving. So I’ll probably spend a decent amount of time on campus.

You’re planning on doing research during summer 2011?! That is our only truly free summer where we can do whatever we want!! (kinda…haha) Take a trip or do something crazy!
