Does anyone know approximately what time Stanford updates their website to say they’re releasing decisions that day?

11 AM EST 10char

Oh boy. I’ll probably be refreshing the website on my phone all through English haha.

Junie, how do you know?

yes, do tell!!

and to big kev - i agree. and that includes if we don’t get in… I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason…!

Ugh, with some of the rejections you see, NOTHING happens for a reason.

So I’ve been lurking on the Columbia forum for a bit, and it’s SO intense there right now. Apparently the ED applicants get their decisions in less than an hour. I have a friend who’s also on CC and who applied to Columbia ED, so I’ll be watching for his post…

I edited a writing portfolio for a guy at my school who applied… He was freaking out a little today, I think. Hope he gets in, but I almost don’t want to hear his decision… I see bad omens everywhere.

Urgh, at this point I’m not even sure if I want to get my admissions decision tomorrow. I just want to postpone the bad news… :p

I was in SUCH a bad mood today. I mean, I’m not exactly the happiest person on the planet all the time… But I don’t usually feel a little like crying in one period and then bite some heads off in the next!

And now I’m sick to my stomach, in bed. (That wasn’t Stanford, though, that was probably something I ate.) Being addicted to my frog-breeding app.

I wish I knew how to design video games…

Funnily enough, just 10 minutes ago got of a phone from a uni in england offering me a Game Developers place in a one year course.

Video game design sounds fun.
Though I’ll admit that being a language/linguistics geek, I’m moreso interested in artificial intelligence/speech recognition/programming. I’m seriously considering a minor in CS.

@iPixel: you’re a knave!!

@Brain Twin: I dunno about a minor or anything, but I’m definitely going to look into Computer Science.

And if I get in, I’m DEFINITELY going to try and take that iPhone app design class… :D

Lol.
I like linguistics a LOT, but if I could design my own ideal major, it would be a mix of the following: linguistics (obviously), classics (also obviously), computer science (same), architecture, engineering, astrophysics, Germanic languages, Romance languages, comparative literature, and environmental science.

Yeah… I’m interested in a lot of things. ;)

Mine would be creative writing, genetics, general human bio, environmental science, philosophy, history, computer science, and maybe some music… So I guess it’s a major in science fiction and fantasy novels? :p

Personally, I’m planning on going into Economics but while taking the Pre-Med requirements. Yeah, I know, there two completely different fields, but undergrad major doesn’t matter for med school, so I would like to study i’m interested in and could have a career in if I don’t go to med school for whatever reason (unlike a degree in biology or even biochemistry…yuck). In addition, either one of those degrees would require me to study plant biology, which is GOD AWFUL.

I’m more inclined for surgery anyways, which is more hands-on applicational work rather than scientific analysis. I don’t think I could survive working as scientists such as my parents. I’m just not that much of a science type guy. Social sciences and human interaction are more of my thing.

My imaginary major would be pretty much wulfran’s with Math instead of creative writing.

BigKev, I totally agree. In regards to science, I’d much prefer to work with things that can be easily applied. I’m not too much of a theoretical thinker, at least not in terms of the sciences. That’s why I’d choose engineering or applied math over pure math or majors in the natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics) any day.
