To all the REA’ers: It’s fine if you don’t want to post regularly in this thread anymore. I understand. However, I’m going to send all of you a message via Facebook in April or May, asking you to post in this thread where you DID get accepted, just to give next year’s REA’ers some hope. :D

That’s a good idea fledgling! Maybe you can just create a thread for rejected REAers in April (this would lessen the chaos of forwarding through a bunch of pages)?

Nah, I don’t think that’s necessary. The REA’ers for next year are going to go to the last few pages of this thread anyways :p

Hey everyone! Congrats to those of you who got in! It must be so exciting, and you really should be proud of yourself.

But for those of you who were deferred/rejected - don’t feel let down. You’re still amazing. Stanford says that it can fill its class over and over again with qualified applicants and at some point the decision becomes somewhat arbitrary. As an REA applicant who applied last year and was rejected early along with other extraordinary applicants, I understand exactly how you feel right now. I couldn’t imagine what I did wrong and I didn’t think I would get into any other college. I’ve come to realize that I couldln’t have done anything more, and that some things are just out of our control. At the end of the day, a college acceptance doesn’t make you who you are or break you. You’re still just as amazing, and we all have great futures ahead of us. Getting rejected from Stanford doesn’t say anything about the rest of your applications. For example, I was rejected by Stanford but accepted in April to all the Ivies, and many other wonderful schools. I was lucky and blessed, and you guys have nothing to worry about. Stanford is a great school, but there are so many other great schools in the US and abroad. So, in the end, don’t feel too bad about Stanford because it won’t matter a year from now. Good luck to everyone!

I’m pretty sure those of us who got deferred are actually counting it as a blessing. We didn’t get rejected, and we have another chance. I didnt think i had any chance!

It still feels so unreal! I am so grateful to have been accepted
Now I must wait until April to find out from Harvard, Cornell, MIT, etc.

Congratulations natalieamara94! I’m so happy for you :D

Also, I can’t believe I didn’t post this earlier, but congratulations to everyone who got accepted. :)

Congratulations to the acceptees! To those who were deferred or rejected, I urge you to remain calm and remember that many REA rejectees have gone on to be very successful during RD.

Looks like there’s three of us who haven’t received emails yet,
but have checked repeatedly.

I wonder what’s up?

For some reason I still havnt checked… hahaha

Well, first of all, my uncle’s wedding was beautiful :0)
Secondly, I was rejected :0(
Oh well, I know I have an exciting and blessed future ahead of me! I do, however, have some paperwork to be filling out ;0)
Just to let everyone out there know, it sure was hard to wait until I got home to open my mail!!!
Congratulations to all of us for being so amazing in our colleges next year!!! (I’m claiming it for myself and each and everyone of you)
Love and blessings to all :0)

Thanks fledgling!
I also would like to say congrats to everyone else who has already been accepted. If I end up going there, I’ll see you in class! (:

Ha, well, unfortunately you won’t be seeing me there anytime because I got rejected.
But I sincerely hope you enjoy Stanford!

Did I understand SilverTurtle correctly that REA applicants can still apply RD?

^ I meant to refer to RD at other schools. Sorry for the ambiguity.

thank you for the clarification.

fledgling - I am honestly sorry to hear that… I know you’ll be a great addition to any school you end up at! I wish you the best of luck! (:

accepted from NC

Awwwww, thank you! You’re so sweet

And I’d also like to say that instead of a Facebook message like I said earlier, I’ll be sending all the REA’ers a mass PM in May or so, asking each of them to come back here and post where they eventually ended up. (I did tell you guys that my FB account would only be a temporary one ;))
