Ugh my outlook is not looking bright. High test scores, good grades, a wide range of extra cirriculars. Isn’t that suppose to get you into college? Smh…

^

exactly :(

ya, all of those ARE supposed to get you into college. So if getting into college is what you’re worried about then apply to some state school. But obviously you dont want that since you’re applying to Stanford. So dont complain, everyone chooses their own poison.

Woah, Guy786. let’s keep this thread empathetic and positive. No need to be rude to others. Being able to commiserate with others in my situation is something awesome about this thread. So no raining on my parade!

Yeah, the raining is going to come on December 13th.

We want to be able to at least dream until then. ;)

@ BigKev: SO true lol!

Haha exactly. Today just happens to be a low on Stanford bipolar syndrome day you guys understand!

I understand! If yall are cool with it, I wouldn’t mind running the acceptance thread when it roles around. Someone else should do the acceptance discussion thread. Also, who is good with psychology? We may need counselors hahah

I don’t want to participate in any admissions thread! Toooooo humiliating, especially after getting to know a lot of you.

Now that we’ve officially passed the deadline, just wanted to say, best of luck all of you. You’re all great, and if not Stanford, you’ll get in somewhere just as good!

Good luck to all of us- with Stanford, and with everywhere else! :)

[Admission office moves forward with random audits | Stanford Daily](Admission office moves forward with random audits)

yay…

Could be good for some of us! It’s basically a free interview.

Haha that’s a good point! I never thought of it that way.

At least there’ll be fewer con artists stealing our spots. :P

At least I told the truth :)

Idk how they could verify each and every aspect to the appication. I guess I could take pictures of the T-Shirts that I got for volunteering lol.

Awesome news. At least now fewer people will be tempted to lie on their apps. It’s surprising how many people attempt to stretch the truth in some way or another. Even here on CC, I’ve found that a couple of well-known members have lied in some way about their stats. I can usually tell when something seems too good to be true, even though I also acknowledge that there are some very highly accomplished individuals. That, plus the fact that I have a pretty good memory and can spot discontinuities between posts. But that’s irrelevant now since the people I’m talking about are already in college.

In any case, I applaud the Stanford admissions committee for taking this extra step. I’m not afraid if I end up being one of the people whom they check since I have nothing to hide :D

I think this will only affect the “big” claims that con artists tend to make. Not even small nitty gritty detail. Even so, it’s a good thing that I have all of my community service testified, and recorded.

And yay! Free interview!! :D

So the Common App tells me they’ve downloaded my application, but not my supplement. Has that happened to anybody else…?

^

same here. They have downloaded the School Forms, though…

and I still haven’t received the axess e-mail >.<
