^You’re lucky you go to Duke since they have the awesome Merchants on Points program.

When I visited stanford, I ate there at one of their cafes, and I was amazed because the food is outstanding! It’s nice to see colleges with food fit for human consumption, unlike my high school :P

^ Didn’t you apply last year?

approx 1 month left… OH DEAR

i haven’t done any apps since the EA stuff was over :P

My next one is due on Monday, and I’ve barely started. ■■■.

After that, time to scramble… January 1 is already starting to loom.

ehehehe. senior year too busy even without apps ><

still its the best year ever. i’m going to miss high school so much.

For me, high school’s been more of a conveyor belt to somewhere else than something I actually enjoyed, especially with the increasing debt problems, horrible administration, and what often feels (to me) like an unsafe environment. That probably hasn’t been the experience of most people at my school, though. I’m guessing it hasn’t been the same with most of you lot, either- is anybody else feeling this way?

I’m feelin’ ya, Wulfran! High school has been wonderful for me up until now. Isn’t senior year supposed to be the fun year? The year you relax and have fun? That’s definitely not the way it’s working out for me. I have more homework than I ever had before, and my classes are a LOT harder than I expected. Makes me look forward to college a little more, I guess.

A little background: I use to run a blog (took it down so Stanford could not find any reason not to accept me besides stats) and it would post music about every week.
Here are some songs I would like to recommend to you guys considering you share some of the same music taste as I do:
Indestructible (Laidback Luke Remix) - Robyn
Give Into the Night (Tomorrow) - Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Dada Life feat Tara McDonald
Unleash the Effing(real word) Dada - Dada Life
On a Good Day (Metropolis) - Above & Beyond feat. Ocean Lab
Knas - Steve Angello

Hope y’all enjoy that.

I think the worst part about senior year, is realizing that the friendships you already have aren’t exactly very stable. I know that once I come back from my first semester of college, very few people will be excited to see me. I guess that’s life, things move on. Already know, there is a distinction between those who are trying for an out of state college, and those who are simply fine to go to a local school.

Stanford early action apps info:

[Restrictive early action application numbers rise 7 percent | Stanford Daily](Restrictive early action application numbers rise 7 percent)

^

expected, but wow. Another all time record xD

So, anybody have any idea when the surge of college applicants will die down? I mean, I thought we were at the tail end of the bubble, but evidently we weren’t quite back far enough…

^I thought so too. I think college apps at highly selective schools may start coming down within a few years.

^ I’m so jealous of my siblings right now. Though I guess they’ll have to pay more.

Why? Because other universities are getting better?

No, because they’ll have an easier time applying than me… My sister gets to wait 5 years, my brother 9. If she doesn’t get the benefits of dropping application numbers, then he probably will.

Hmmm… If they accept the same number if students the acceptance rate will be around 13%… still better than 7.2%

^ yupp… :D

but the RD pool should also increase… something like… “better than 6.5%” :p
