*Official* Stanford REA 2015 Applicants' Discussion Thread

At everyone (patricularly wulfran and sleaze), in fact I really do talk like that in real life. Ask Court. (PS thanks for the backup, although unnecessary)

There are so many great Bellatrix Lestranges walking around school today. Just another day at RE Upper School lol.

■■■■■ at post #1610

Wow, A couple of hours and all this???

Got the missing credentials mail today… Was tripping balls man! Apparently one of my teachers ‘forgot’ to click submit on his rec… Damn!!

HP!!! YEY…

BTW I have never formally introduced myself, seems like the progression from official lurker to poster happened rather subconsciously. I’m Bryan from Kenya (yes you read that right, no typo :p). Applied REA although I have no chance whatsoever of getting in. Most people in my school normally go to the UK for college, but this year we are shaking it up. About 70% of us are intent on going to top-tier US colleges.

My user name is, well, my middle name.

Lurking here has been so reassuring that people who apply to Stanford are actually pretty chill. i mean we all hear about the duck analogy but I have to be honest, I have questioned its legitimacy on a couple of occasions. But reading this, wow! I really need to get in!! :)

Hi!, I’m applying early too and I hope I get in over all of you :)

^^^^^

Not very nice are we…

(note: if that was a stab at sarcasm, I missed it… )

Michelle- I know you don’t need the backup, but you weren’t on to defend yourself. And yes, everyone, she DOES talk like that in real life.
Bellatrox Lestrange? What an awesome costume that must be! I am in full Hogwarts uniform- white collared shirt with tie and cardigan, grey knee-length skirt, cloak, and I am getting some AWFUL looks from people at my school.

Kimathi- thanks for sharing and welcome! That’s AWESOME that you’re from Kenya- has to look great on your app!

Fullfisting- ■■■■. Don’t post here again. We’ve had enough negativity in the past 24 hours.
This thread is for sharing, supporting, encouraging, and empathizing. Not for you.

You are getting fullfisting ****ed off. And by his screename I wouldn’t mess with him

(just a hint from an inside source)

Courtney - I wasn’t on to defend myself because I don’t spend 25 hours a day on this god-forsaken website.

KENYA BELIEVE IT

Haha I don’t understand how you can just avoid it! While I’m at school I’m always on my phone, but many of my friends don’t text during class, and no one’s on Facebook during the day. But friends are always on CC  That’s the best thing about this thread, I think. There’s always a friend to talk to no matter what time of day.

I was obviously being sarcastic if you could think beyond just the text, but if you’re telling me to “■■■■”, how is that not adding to the negativity? I think you should focus on how to read into something rather than react to it, and (not being sarcastic) I hope you learn to be more accepting. So how’s life?

Literally no one here in Miami besides like three people know about this website. But then again, I’m a grand exception. Like I’m considered the most college-obsessed girl in my grade with reviews about every college, but then again, that’s just me.

And yea I guess there will be an advantage on being over on the West Coast next year (hopefully)… my friends back at home will be getting up to go to class as I’m winding down for the night. muahahahhahahahahaha drunk texts anybody?!

Wooh Someone’s ready to fight! From your post it was NOT obvious whether that was sarcasm or not. However, if it was, I apologize for being rude. After last night I just don’t want any more people attacking anyone, and wanted to stop it as quickly as possible. You applied REA, you said? Care to tell us something about yourself?

Michelle- by friends I meant CCers, not friends from school. I, too, am consider the single most college-obsessed person in my grade, as well as the only one who knows about CC. But I live in a rural midwest town so that’s not surprising. How dis everyone discover CC?

haha!! This time difference thing is a bit much. The time here is PST + 11 hours. So I’ll actually get my decision on the 11th @ 2. 00 am!!!

And trust me I’ll be awake…

Haha. I think i’m the only one in my school who lurks/post here. Everyone else is at the student room (UK’s equivalent)

What are your major extra-curricular activities this semester? For me its the senior play (merchant of Venice) and Varsity Tennis and I gues you could say University Applications :p

^

I’m on a gap year. I’m tutoring big time… and studying a bit.

EC’s? Strengthening my command of German, learning Latin, doing proofreading and translation work, piano, guitar (though I’m not practicing as often as I’d like to :p), church youth group, and editing the school newsletter…

Speaking of the newsletter, I have like 20 articles to edit within the next week. That should be interesting…

I was just searching for something college related and I stumbled on to the site. Then I saw a thread about some topics like the SAT, and Stanford, and I kept reading…

Hey fledgling, how long do you think it would take to re-learn a language that you haven’t spoken in years?

A friend recommended me the website.

I was searching for a porn site and found this…

JUST KIDDING. I just stumbled upon it!

Depends. Do you still hear the language on a regular basis?

I don’t know why you keep calling me names, but whatever. When I asked you if you really talked like that in real life, I was truly interested because where I come from, no one talks like that. But based on the context of our conversation, I realized that it could’ve been interpreted as an insult so I decided to delete the post. Before I did so, Wulfran took it upon himself to pounce on me before I had the chance to explain.

That said, had I been less dogmatic in my previous statements, there probably wouldn’t have been any room for misinterpretation. We can both take it and dish it out, so I don’t know why Wulfran felt the need to interrupt our banter.

Apology accepted. Here’s a hint: when you pile on someone, make sure you bury them. Because payback is a beeyotch.

How kind of you. Don’t expect me to reciprocate.
