Official Stanford SCEA 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

Here are the numbers at top schools:

Columbia: 3,088

UPenn: 4,526

The greatest university in the world, Stanford: 5,880

MIT: 6,102

Harvard: 4,245

Hahaha StanfordCS, love that description next to Stanford.

I’ve been reading this thread for a while now… and I finally gave in to the urge to join this conversation. My two closest friends applied to Dartmouth and Penn (both coming out tomorrow) and I would love to know if I can join the same boat of decisions for tomorrow for sure…

Stanford admissions, y u no tell exact date?

In less than 24 hours, I – and 90% of all of you – will know, officially,
THAT WE ARE WORTHLESS!

Seriously, you all crack me up. C’mon – if your life’s worth is based on the crapshoot that is Stanford’s admissions, you are too uptight for Stanford!
:-)

Feel great – only a handful of people in the world even have a shot at Stanford.

I really really hope decisions come out tomorrow as well, I just want to know already! (I’ve already finished and turned in all of my other apps save 1, though, so that’s no big deal.)

One of my good friends applied to Dartmouth ED. I’m really excited for her, but I hope we can find out tomorrow too…

If they don’t release them tomorrow, I will be uber, uber, uber ****ed. I’m fairly certain it’s a rejection, but I just want to get it over with, so I can submit other apps.

@mba8inAZ - my self worth isn’t tied to admissions decisions, but it would be such a relief to just know. If I’m accepted then it’d be like hey, worst case scenario Stanford! And that’s no one’s worse case scenario. (Or if it is…) If I’m rejected it’ll be like oh look. Mmkay, time to move on and occupy myself with other stuff.

And if I get deferred, it’ll be like really? ;-;

If you look at last year’s thread, when they called the admissions office told them something like “Look out for the big announcement tomorrow!”

So probably not tomorrow. Whatevz, I’m glad they go through a thorough process on the Farm.

In other news, Chris Paul goes to the Lakers! Woooo

Its gonna be tmrw. Everyone believe

I hope so. I have computers classes all morning so I’m going to be refreshing+checking like crazy until (if?) they release some sort of notice about it, then I’m not going to be able to concentrate all of the rest of the day

If they do release it tomorrow, what time will it be?

It’ll be arounf 3pm pacific time

And they should put a notice on the website aroung 9am pacific time

@Anfalas: Not that you’d be concentrating anyways since you’ll be busy refreshing instead of paying attention to class… :D

So I just gave a big sigh of relief after that little discussion about CSS a bit ago.

And I really hope its tomorrow, guys. My swim practice tomorrow is until 6 - next week its until 5. If it’s tomorrow, I won’t be able to get incredibly worked up about it :/

My friend got into Columbia today as well! He literally cried when he found out haha

All this waiting is killing me. My friends are already calling me after school to see if I got anything in my email :/

last year the person that called and received the big news notice posted at 748 PM

@Stanford CS

“Nope, Stanford has followed the same schedule regarding decisions for numerous years”

But in the past four years they have released them the Friday before.

Do you guys know how common deferrals are?

@freehugs, they are unusually rare for stanford. More people get accepted than deferred
