Official Stanford SCEA 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

the email they sent me said it would be the 15th. Why is everyone saying it’s tomorrow. Gahh. So stressed.

I second Outliers.

I’m going to be spam checking my email at school tomorrow… So nervous…

Is it just me…or was there no question on the Stanford app this year that asked explicitly…why do you want to come here?

Just to update the new comers…
@mbs2012: For the past few years, Stanford has consistently released decisions on the Friday before the 15th. If that pattern holds, decisions will be coming tomorrow. We can’t be sure, though, and have gotten mixed signals from the Admissions Office.

If it is released early, they’ll post a press release on their Admissions News webpage sometime in the morning, which would be followed by decisions being e-mailed at 3 PM PST. There is really no way to be sure–we just have to see what happens tomorrow.

@ENITSRIK: They took “Why Stanford?” off of the supplement, and put in “What matters to you and why?”

Don’t have school tomorrow. Will be constantly checking email instead of studying for Differential Equations Final. Haha

Wait, do they always say “We expect decisions will be sent via email from Dean Richard Shaw on December 15 after 3pm (Pacific Time)”?

That sounds pretty definite to me…

let us all join hands and pray to the dear lord jesus,

SEND ALL THE DECISIONS TOMORROW!

amen.

a great number of my peers applied EA to stanford. tomorrow’s going to be absolute mayhem oh man.

Dapotatoman, where did you see that?

hooooooooolllly
judgement day soon :S

@kimchee1212: What do you mean by mixed signals from the admissions office? And I’m Korean too (assuming you’re Korean). :P

Another Idahoan applying to Stanford REA?!?!?! I was hoping I’d be the only one!! haha

They said December 15th in the e-mail, but as the press statements have said, decisions are released “much earlier than expected” each Friday before the 15th.

And, we had two calls to the office earlier today.
One: A man told the caller that decisions were not finalized and that results would come on or around the 15th.
Two: A woman told the caller that decisions were finalized and they were merely organizing results and waiting from word from the Dean.

I don’t think they would lie about finishing decisions, to be honest.

I saw it on the email sent out saying “Urgent Action” or whatever where you had to click a link to confirm you received it. It says it at the bottom.

[Stanford early admission decisions released earlier than expected - Washington DC College admissions | Examiner.com](http://www.examiner.com/college-admissions-in-washington-dc/stanford-early-admission-decisions-released-earlier-than-expected)

I think I’ll be more mentally jarred if I find out that decisions AREN’T coming out tomorrow.

Also, how do people find out? Is it just an email?

@NotSoProdigious Yep. Just an e-mail
@Potato man Are you referring to the e-mail that they send you automatically when you first apply?

it did say that on the email but I;m guessing it says that every year.

I’m so glad they traded why stanford for what matter most to you!

This. If I see the Press Release tomorrow morning, I’ll smile at least once during the process :P
