Official Stanford SCEA 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

But really what Facebook group. Also let’s get an accepted thread goin to see who’s who

Well, turns out my gmail quarantined it even though they were a contact AND it wasn’t even put into the spam box. Wow. It came at 4:05… so much unnecessary pain.

^congrats! You had a special experience with your acceptance. You could write an essay about it ;)

^ LOL definitely. does anyone know if they’ve released the accepted/deferred stats yet?

i actually got my email 3 min early o.O whooped so loudly the librarians told me to be quiet XD hope to see everyone next year!

Anyone have a copy of the acceptance letter?

Accepted
Had a couple of disappointments lately so was reluctant to open the email before I went out with friends (also had no privacy). When I returned last night there was a second email waiting with subject line, Stanford ID number. Relief would be the word I felt.

Rejected. Congrats to everyone though!

Just wanted to say congrats to all the SCEA admits!!! Can’t wait to meet you guys at Admit weekend or next fall =] Go Cardinal!

Final statistics: 755 admits from a pool of 5880 applicants. 12.8% Acceptance Rate.

^Is there a CC results thread?

WAIT A SECOND…

I got deferred, but I also got a Stanford ID Number. ***?!
Am i missing something :P

That’s normal. Deferred and accepted get ids for now

Ahhhh… I see. :D

Well…time to re-apply haha  any hints for deferral people? :D

So even if I was deferred, the student ID is still for the Stanford admit site? I don’t get what the ID is for…

I think im going to do a gap year, explore the world, work on my entrepreneur projects so i can say they are finished, I think the reason why i wasn’t accepted i mentioned the stuff i plan to do, rather than the stuff I already did. I’m not sure if there is a better fit for me than Stanford, I’m a entrepreneur/innovator interested in science and technology…I wan to surround my self by people with the same aspirations… any suggestions? Before I officially decide to take a gap year?

@coolguy - If you really want to be an entrepreneur, Stanford is not going to be the deciding factor. You don’t need to be in that school to be successful !! So go for your projects no matter what, you don’t have to be there to be surrounded by people. That is not going to define YOUR success. Yes, take a gap year if you want but don’t take it just cos you didnt get in and that was the only way to make your projects a success. Good luck.

Thanks, yea I guess the most successful entrepreneurs didn’t even graduate from college. Idk i guess it really doesnt matter where i go. Im going to take one, a gap year, so i have time to focus on my projects not having to worry about finals, projects, study etc… And trust me its my passion im not going to be doing it for stanford, and thanks again, now that i think of it there really is no reason why i have to go to stanford, besides the research but other schools have decent programs…my goal is to have a science-technology research/product development company offering the present the technology of tomorrow.

Congrats to the EA profros (prospective froshs). For those that did not get in, do not fret as just applying to Stanford means you have the mettle to succeed at any good university. Go Cardinal!

Hahaha stanfred!

R u at Stanley now?
