I believe I said stat threads, where we all post our stats and compare, especially for decisions.

You need to spend less time on CC StanfordCS. Don’t you have any ECs to keep you busy? Or a social life?

I’ve got to confess: I love reading everybody’s comments, and I’m glad there are other people out there who are going through the same traumatic experience as me, but the people here on CC freak me out and make me about twice as anxious as I was before.

You’re all still awesome :P

@dapotatoman whoa rude… CC doesn’t take that much time… all it takes is a lil procrastination

You have only had a tenth of the posts that he has had in about the same time. Sorry, though, that was rude of me. I do apologize friend.

Ok, we’ll here’s some objective stats:

SAT (Superscore): 2310 800 M 770 W 740 CR
Physics: 800
Math II: 800

World History, Chem, Physics B, Comp Sci AB, Language: 5s

But we all know that stats play a small role in a holistic review, so it won’t be able to give much insight as to admission decisions.

Do US citizens compete with international students too?

In class my teacher mentions Dred Scott v. Sanford. and I instinctively burst out “Stanford?!?!”
What has become of us?

Watched the movie “Avatar”
…Guess what?

Saw an avatar (one of the protagonists, lady…forgot her name xx) wearing STANFORD tank top oO…

@JacobStudent
I am not 100% sure; according to my memory, I remember reading an article about “applicants’ pool(?)” … and the article mentioned that U.S. citizens and permanent residents are in a different pool from international students are in. In other words, the former does not compete with the latter. I might be wrong! :)

@ Rush10: Thanks! I like Stanford a lot, so I’m hoping it might be where I’ll eventually end up.

@ UPenns: Don’t worry - I think we’re all going crazy over this whole waiting period. :(

@UPenns: It was probably Sigourney Weaver, she’s a Stanford Alum. The crabby redhead lady in the movie haha :P

@dapotatoman, I do have EC’s to keep me busy, but I stalk this forum while I’m on my cellphone.

As badly as we all want to get into Stanford, surely some of you have thought of what you will do upon seeing your decision. So, how will you react once you see that magical acceptance letter? What about the dreaded rejection?

Acceptance letter, I will jump up and down and yell “**** YES”. But if it’s a rejection, which is likely, then I will go into my room and cry.

Acceptance letter = slack on my 16 page report due after Christmas break. (Who cares about 4.0s anymore?!)

Rejection letter = go out with friends and do something.

What class do you have a 16 page report for?

I have to do a 25 page report on The Iliad; I have to do a complete analysis from characters, symbolism, why the author wrote what he did, etc… I may punch my teacher in the face.

This is torture; The Iliad is so damn boring. Why can’t my teacher pick interesting books? Next we’re reading Some 1000 page book on Narcissism. Then some stupid book on Pol Pot, then we’re reading a bunch of Shakespeare plays like Macbeth, Hamlet, Othello, etc…

But I may end up failing that paper due to depression from being rejected.

Does your school use TurnItIn.com? My teacher is a stickler for plagiarism; he failed a kid last quarter because he plagiarized one sentence.

However, I have a 10 page report due for my Physics C class next week. Which isn’t too bad.

AP Literature… We get to choose our own books off of the AP list. I chose The Sun Also Rises, but we also have to read three bibliographies and three critical essays and analyze those.

Your class seems much more interesting than mine.

accepted: go to my basketball game (9th)/practice (15th)
rejected: go to my basketball game (9th)/practice (15th)
