Official Stanford SCEA 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

I’m pretty much done – just polishing my last essay for my last app. If I don’t get into any CA school, I’ll apply to U AZ last moment in the spring – their deadline is crazy late.

Question: How many people do you think like on their applications? Sadly I have to think a number do.

A number probably lied on their applications, but Stanford randomly audits its admitted students, so they can find out if you lied or not.

@orangepekoe
or maybe Stanford looks for kids with good interpersonal skills AND top notch academic achievement

calgirl15: I hope to see you at Stanford!

Each day is a step closer to finding out if I actually made it or not!

i just want to KNOW! i don’t want to wait anymore! in my head i know not to expect anything good, but i can’t help hoping against hope…

I agree!
asdjfkl; so glad I didn’t do RD, then I’d have to wait forever…
(hopefully) just 11 more days!

The days are going by soooooooo slowly!

agreed… these next few days/weeks are gonna be the longest ones in my life…

Apparently, Columbia and Cornell decisions are coming out on the 8th. And I thought the 9th was soon…

days that are more important than December 9th/15th:

the day you were born
your first day of school
the day of your religious coming of age (bar mitzvah, etc.)
April first of this year (for most of us, at least)
your first day of college
your wedding day
when you start your career
when you buy your first home
when each of your kids are born
when you retire
when each of your grandkids is born

and several more

really nothing to freak out over

December 15th has the potential to be better than my future honeymoon… just saying!

^I hope your future wife doesn’t trace your account.

Hahaha that’s why I carefully used the word “potential”, just in case!

Seriously, there’s been some sad stuff happening around my world. Nothing that directly affects me, but stuff that makes you feel lucky to be alive, healthy, happy etc. I kind of feel like getting into Stanford might be too much to ask, given how lucky I am in general. I’m a pessimist, what can I say?

DARN YOU GUYS. NO MORE TALKING ABOUT DECEMBER 9TH. If the decisions don’t come out on the 9th we’re all going to be even more anxious and ****ed off mostly.

What’re some of y’alls stats and everything from your application? I’m curious to see what kind of students are competing for the same spots as me.

If you want to see our stats, then look at Hazloc’s survey.

I don’t like the survey form if it is only used. Stat threads are much more useful and fun in my opinion.

Yes but “Chances” threads don’t mean anything. Why are people asking 17 and 18 year old prospective students of their chances? How do we know, we’re not college adcomms?
