Official Stanford SCEA 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

thanks rush10! i was trying to not think about it, but now that it’s getting so close I can’t help but get a little antsy :frowning: ahh especially because tonight I have nothing to do for once in my life (lopsided block schedules ftw?)

on another note, do any of you guys do crew? just curious to see if there are any fellow rowers out there :D

GUYS lets change the decision reporting format to hook first… It’s the most important part anyways

Nope. I play football and basketball (Team Captain for both).

And recruited by Penn State and have 140% racial makeup and won’t post stats. I smell ■■■■■

It doesn’t matter what comes first in the format.

And same I think they come out next friday

The race thing was a joke, in all seriousness I am really white.

Yes, I am recruited to Penn State and a couple other D1 schools but a lot of D2 schools.

However, you couldn’t pay me to go to Penn State.

I agree the hooks should go first. Because, when I read decision threads, I get my hopes up because some low stat kid got in, then I find out his ethnicity and end up depressed.

I think it does… I find myself going to the hooked part first to see if I should even be comparing myself as a unhooked applicant

^ I thought I posted something along the lines of your post… I don’t know what happened to it.

You are white now?!?! My god why would you make post asking questions about na admissions?!?! What was the point!

change it!

I was f’ing around. Sorry.

Will Stanford send us an email notifying us when they’ll release decisions?

We will know ahead of time if they change the deadline

…speaking of changing things…

StanfordCS, my favorite thing about your posting history is how in every chance thread with a well-qualified applicant, you tell them “Yo, don’t apply REA. Your chances would be much better RD,” so clearly because you’re scared of their competition.

Ethnicity doesn’t help if yoou have low stats. There are plenty of minorities who are ridiculously qualified just like everyone else

@stanfordcs, they will put it on the admissions news part of the website that day so we will know to be expecting an email

I’ll just regularly check this thread… No doubt there will be a flood of “OMG” “I’m so nervous!” “AHHHHHHHHH” going on.

jdlace… It’s not just about ethnicity there’s athletes legacy and income too and they DO make a difference…

Well, since you went back and viewed my posting history. Well, go and find when I applied too, because I applied on the last day, October 31st.

I only applied because there was no way I could wait until April for a decision.

@jdlace
They do make a difference. A Hispanic applicant in the 2014 thread was admitted with a 20 ACT. Look him up. His username on here is aztec91.

Musicians too. AND I’m sure hooked people would like to see what other people with there same hook got in
