Actually, you telling us it would be today is what threw us off.

I told you what I knew, ppl. nygiants and jkIVY heard the same thing. Sux that seemingly reliable sources were wrong. Not much else we could do.

Ah well no need to blame anyone it’s really because we want the results so badly.

Did someone call? I know it almost never works, but you never know

preach Bleach! Totally agree.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission has completed its evaluation and selection process and we will release all admission decisions sometime today after 3pm. All decisions will be sent via email from Richard Shaw, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid, and will not be available on any Stanford website. Students who are admitted will also be mailed a formal offer letter of admission as well. To avoid sending disappointing news twice, we will not mail paper copies of decisions to students who are not offered admission. Please do not call the Office for admission decisions as we will not release them by phone.

Of the 36,631 applications received, a total of 2,427 students will be admitted. An additional 789 students will be offered a space on our waitlist. Regrettably, we cannot consider any letters or calls of appeal whatsoever. All admission decisions are final and we never alter any admission decision once it has been rendered.

We were humbled by this year’s admission process and we have great respect for those students who have applied for admission. We wish all of our candidates the best and know that they will all have a wonderful collegiate experience.

Please be aware that the Office of Undergraduate Admission will close today at 3pm to complete the mailing process. We will re-open Monday, April 2 at 8:30am.

Trolololololololo

Is it possible that the admissions staff are not working as hard as last year? If you live in the bay area, can you go to Stanford tonight and check if the lights of the admission office are still on and the admissions staff still at work? My kid’s life has frozen in anticipation of the status :)

Did anyone ever consider that Stanford may be monitoring this thread, and are intentionally not releasing it on the days we expect, as to quell peoples efforts to seek (and give) inside information?

@ Catatau FFFF UUUUU ahhh lolol

hhahahah I’m sorry, temptation to ■■■■■ was just too big

Hi, I’ve been lurking around this thread since last Wednesday when I discovered it. I also applied SCEA to Stanford, and after today’s disappointment, decided to create an account and say hi :)

It WAS a perfect set-up.

@Trivial, ya never know but I kind of doubt it.

catatau: 36631 early applicants? 2427 accepted early? People being waitlisted from early action already, no deferrals? Surely you jest =P

DadCares: There is literally nothing you can do to make them go faster. In fact, even if they ARE slacking (which I very much doubt, by the way; they’re actually going at a similar rate to last year considering Sandy and an uptick in application numbers), even if you were to find that out, how would you know? Furthermore, if you were paid to work 9-5, would you stay over til 10 to review apps? Admissions people are people too! And I’m sure reading apps gets tiring… too many attempts to be cute or grand or whatnot.

Also, that’s getting a TAD obsessive =P (coming from winning of “Most Obsessed SCEA Applicant 2012”)

[lol I need to stop citing that award]

In that case… there is NO way it’s going to be tomorrow lol ;)

Alright. All of the guesses are over with. Pumped for Friday :D

harborceal, I’m horrified…

Relax! The decisions have been made!

“If it be not to come, it will be now. If it be not now, yet it will come — the readiness is all. Since no man of aught he leaves knows, what is’t to leave betimes? Let be.”

I’m wondering, what are the top choices for those who don’t make the cut? I was looking at Columbia, but I think my second choice is probably USC now.

My heart dropped when I read that ■■■■■ post. Oh my.

Dear Mr. Supercomputer by Surfjan Stevens! Great song. My top choice is probably MIT or UW (U of Washington). Go Dawgs!
