@smarts: I included mine too, partially, since I had some more awards/details that did not fit in the top 10.

My regional admissions rep told me not to and that they wouldn’t be read but ehh maybe that is just her personal preference. Who knows?

I did include a 1 page abstract of my research. She said that was a good idea.

Dear lord, guys. How am I supposed to do anything and keep up reading all of this?
holy pooperton.
I’m pulling a great big tl;dr outta this.
Though I will admit I love the fact that nor keeps plugging her playlist XD

I like it. It reminds me to listen. It’s been open all afternoon.

@holocene: Yeah, can’t hurt. I also included some links to my abstracts online, wonder if they will bother looking at them.

I figured that putting it in their face i.e. the additional info section would lead to a greater chance of it being read lolol. I have 2 abstracts but only included 1. Didn’t want to be annoying but in retrospect it probably would have been better to just provide the 2nd. It’s not like they have to read it. Oh well.

Yeah =) I think if it comes down to it they will definitely take it into consideration. Do you have science fair awards that goes with your research also?

I enjoy reading this thread a lot :)

Nahh first project I couldn’t get approval cause my lab didn’t have the appropriate IRB stuff (sketch, I know). I’ve entered the second project into a few things, most of which I will find out about in Jan-March.

Ahhh, I gotchu. Yeah, if Stanford fails me, I’ll be obsessing over Intel STS instead. I hope it turns out well for you(:

Meee too. Luckily, Stanford has distracted me from Intel quite a bit. Best of luck to you, too!

To prepare for rejection, F**k The World by 2Pac.

brb shower… don’t go anywhere.

So… What’s new?

So literally everyone I know has decided to start majorly freaking out about early decisions. Seriously EVERY freaking facebook status: omg penn! omg harvard! omg princeton! omg everything!

Just lost all of my focus -____-

And it scares me how many people from my class applied early to Ivies/top schools…it seems to be 1/3 if not closer to 1/2 of our almost 700 student class :/

UGH SO COMPETITIVE.

^My school is similar, except like half the size.

Crazy that most of us will be really disappointed after working at pretty much equal levels for 4 years. It’s the small things that set a few applicants apart.

Ahhhh, that is quite unfortunate. My best friend, who also applied to Stanford, had a major freakout earlier today. It almost made me stressed out! Let us all relax though. In our 400 student class, about 30 people applied to Stanford/Ivies, so not as bad.

Interesting point. What points? Essays? Or something more specific?

^@Holo… My school’s similar, but half the size xD

I don’t think anyone really ends up too disappointed at my school, in general. People tend to get in where they deserve to around here.
