Official thread october sat 2013 test

@jlee I for one don’t. I had a different prompt actually! But I do understand what you’re referring too. Sometimes I just skip reading the intro altogether so I dont get confused

For the writing section paragraph revision, did you guys put “there is speculation”?

Is it horribly off topic if rather than talk about contentment as related to self I used examples more relevant to society as a whole…?

@jlee yes I got that prompt too (didn’t like it), but I talked more about how discontentment motivates people to improve/do better rather than contentment preventing people from pushing themselves… would that still work even though I didn’t directly address the question? And what examples did you use?

@sillyup20

I put the same answer as you

Does anyone know what the answers were for #28 and 29 on the 25 min writing section?

@cheng36
WOW I definitely know which questions you’re talking about since we’re all mind-readers.

Please elaborate what the questions were.

@cookiestuf
Remain calm, we may very well have gotten it wrong.

What was the answer for the CR music passage Q about music types? Something about “why did the author add the description of different music?” There was a Beethoven ring tone and hip hop music.

Yeah so I took on the task of moving beyond oneself and addressing society and progressivism as a whole. Do you guys think that will hurt us since the one sentence question referred more to self yet the one paragraph excerpt was more about society as a whole?

Kpopzz I’d be glad to discuss essay specifics with you or whoever else is interested but not over the public forum. PM me.

Silly what was “there is speculation” in/for again? One of the writing sections, yeah, but was it the one about life beyond earth? Do you have the full sentence?

Who wrote about Edward Snowden on the essay about privacy?

@clams07

Ubiquity of music.

@cookiestuf
i agree

@clams07 I think I answered C for that question.

Do you guys remember the vocab question about a politician and his supporters, that was essentially saying “although they found out he was bad, his supporters weren’t deterred”. one of the answer choices had cataclysmic. was this the answer?

Nah Piquant, cataclysmic wasn’t the answer for that vocab question

@Piquant, I don’t think that’s what my answer was. Cataclysmic seems like too extreme of a word in context.

For the f(x) = 1/x question, where f(x) had to be greater than 100, I put .001. Anyone else get that? (math grid in)

Do you guys ever wonder if CB patrols these forums and similar ones? I mean it’d only make sense. I know during AP testing they do because some kid at my school tweeted during one of the exams and CB was almost instantly on the phone with our school’s admins and they found him. Anyway, I’m not scared. Just curious. Maybe that’s why our GoogleDoc was taken down?

What was the answer to the question from the Sousa music passage about the “beneficial effects of…” And the choices were like LPS replaced by newer technologies, revitalization of classical perfomances, etc
