Official thread october sat 2013 test

@xCossack I didn’t have that.

I put propriety to spontaneity

@Smarty1201 before finally had no issue. The only thing that stood out about that question was “past” but even that was fine.

This whole proceeded-preceded debate is interesting. Here’s some food for thought: why would a group of people stand up and honor a recipient of an award after he/she already received it. One would first enumerate the accomplishments that warranted the recipient nomination and selection for the award.

E for 13 on sect 10 was right. The other “alright” options weren’t idiomatic.

For the question about the Incas which used “whether…or” there was no error, right? Whether x or y is the same as saying whether x or whether y. It seems more succinct to leave out the second whether, though not necessary or grammatically incorrect to include it. Am I right?

@jsjang - I had a writing section. I remember one of the spotting error was like At first, … efforts done by the football team

Wouldn’t before finally be grammatically incorrect?

Oooooh yeah I got sanskrit one

Did anyone else think the math was SUPER hard?? I’ve taken the SAT twice (got a 720 on math the second time) and have done countless practice tests… none of those math sections were ever as hard as this one was.
Thought critical reading was okay and writing was SUPER easy (though I bombed the essay… doesn’t matter, got a 760 on my last writing section).
I got m=r for that math problem; all you had to do was use 3 numbers instead of 15 and the problem became so much easier to do.

The author’s purpose in the electronics passage?
Present the key arguments in an ongoing debate?

I can’t remember the questions now though :frowning: I remember that the last group of questions for one of mine was about baby carrots, but can’t remember for the second one.

range is the (highest - the lowest) in a set of numbers. Also I’m positive I had 4 CR sections so it had to be one of the Reading ones that was the experimental

I said present key arguments as well but I’m not sure in the slightest

did anyone get openly… something for the music passage?

Saratoga, I got a 570 in math the first time. I didn’t study math at all for this test and I thought the math was VERY easy.

Which numbers on the 25 min writing were the no errors?

@afternoon - i put openly deferential but I don’t think that’s correct.

@yankees

I know the river serenely one was one, can’t remember the others I think 28 was another? or was it 27

I got the Sanskrit one as well.

The test never said you had to have distinct integers thus having a mode is perfectly valid and answers the question. Much simpler than computing 15 different values, though that’s not extremely hard to begin with. It’s just faster if you have a mode; once again, not necessary but perfectly acceptable.

Why are people asking about numbers and letters did you guys memorize answer pattern???

Guys for the sentence about the river going serenely.

That was no error right?

“Before finally” shouldn’t be wrong…

@afternoon what was the gist of the question?
