Official thread october sat 2013 test

Also, I got indignant. Belligerent means hostile and antagonistic (in fact, it is mostly associated with war and physical conflict). Indignant was the better choice IMO.

@tidamattud Dude so many people on this thread have agreed that it was I and II and that III does not work… maybe you/re remembering the numbers wrong…

indignant too and i also got I II and III. @rkamil9 most people got that too on this thread

@phongtheha do you remember if that same section had a question about a triangle with sides a b and c with a ratio of 6 to 5 to 5 ? becaus ei think this section was experimental???

@diddly123 what about trepidation… defiance… he was scared at first that he couldn’t remember anything but then he was resistant to that feeling and knew that he would recall the information

ragingrag – she wasn’t mocking her at all.

Satire: “the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to EXPOSE AND CRITICIZE PEOPLE’S STUPIDITY or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.”

…no

@diddly123

Thanks! I was unsure of the meaning of the words but I felt like the other answer choices didnt fit exactly.

and the unique book one is disparate i think

hey guys did you put “impassion…inconclusive” or the “polarized…surprisingly fruitful” for the music recording passage on CR? and can you please explain why you chose the answer you did.

wasn’t the passage about Mrs. Flowers about how the girl really admired her? why would she mock someone (satirize) her idol’s punishment? she used exaggeration (the fact that even death would be too brief) to point out just how much Mrs. Flower’s task of reading the books aloud meant to her.

and for the music passage, was one of the answers something about the issues of a debate

Can someone please just confirm that you did not see a math question with a 4 digit number with integer restrictions and it asked what was the highest number possible so i dont kill myself for getting it wrong…

What QUESTION # was the ABCD Line question.???:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

was revelation an answer for the cookie/read books passage

Tidumattud, I guessed the inconclusive answer choice on that one.

Are any of you doing Early Decision?
If so, where?
I’m just curious haha

rkamil9 i have a friend who is a USAMO qualifier and took the sat today and agreed with me that I II and II are all true. also i have gotten an 800 on the last SAT math i took so im pretty sure i know what im talkin about

The answer is exaggerate! go look in the princeton review manual on page 171 if you have it… the same exact passage is in there and it clearly says that she was exaggerating when she said death… the answer is right there… it is NOT satirize

Rkamil, I did not see a question like that either.

@Tidumattud I put inconclusive because the debating was so extreme on both sides that no one could really determine anything.

polarized… fruitful. they had opposing views, and the conversation went on to radical tangents, this one I know I got right @relativelysmart
